And a little reminder to myself to review my own. π

A huge part of running a business is persistence. Here is a bit of Monday motivation for all my fellow business owners β‘
2023 Website Statistics you need for your business. π»
48% of people said that web design is the no. 1 way they determine your business credibility. Think of your website as your online office or shop front. And in 2023 it's one of the first places someone will check on your businesses credibility.
94% of websites impressions are design-related. That doesn't mean the website is just pretty! It also means it has great user-experience (UX). How often have you left a website because you haven't been able to navigate it, it won't load or it just didn't make much sense?
38% of users will stop using a website if they find the layout unattractive. This leads on from point 2. The best websites feel intiutive to the brand and to navigate.
What are your top websites loves and peeves? β€π
"Why are you here? How do you fit in? Whatβs it all about?β
Sir David Attenborough.
Last year I attended the conference trying to answer these questions for myself and my business. How can I help? What is the gap my business can fill? Why was my business there?
What I found was that a lot of the ecotourism businesses are just re-opening after Covid. Many of these businesses had previously relied on word of mouth. Others were struggling to educate visitors without causing their natural environment harm. All of them had a message they wanted to convey. And many didn't have a website that conveyed this if one at all.
A website is now your online presence, the face of your brand and your audience's first impression. Having a well-laid-out and planned website can strengthen the messages your team works on, on the ground.
π Have a message about reducing plastic. Showcase a metal straw counter for every visitor who has made the transition alongside how that impacts your environment.
π± Need to set some guidelines? A National Park website is the first place I look to check what I can and can't bring with me. There is no reason a private tour can't do the same. It's more likely your visitors just don't know than they are actual as****es (we hope!)
π» Share your story. People tend to buy from others they have an emotional tie with. What greater bond than one with the natural world? Tell your story online, write that about page or start a blog to captivate the hearts of your audience before they even meet you.
Have your own ecotourism business? Let us know what you are missing right now and what you are all about.
2022 felt like a big stepping stone for me.
It was the year I started my business. π©πΌβπ»
Finished a certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and new business.
Got my Ls on a motorbike.π΅
Drove the Great Ocean Road in a motorhome. π
And spent a lot of time with friends and family.
There were also a ton of things I felt I hadn't achieved in my business and personally but I'm excited for in 2023. β¨
What were the highlights of your 2022?
I've been a busy bee before Christmas but there is always time to stop and smell the roses. ππΉ
In this case quite literally. The beautiful Monique at Maud and Ivy Flowers surprised me with these last Thursday. They are the most gorgeous flowers I have ever received. And I loved seeing her work first-hand after working with her for so long on her website. Her beautiful creations exceeded all my expectations and the photos can't do them justice. Monique really makes any event special.
What's one thing you do this time of year that makes you stop and enjoy the moment?π
I have availabilities over the next couple of months. And it's my birthday month! π°π

In honour of an incredible woman, leader and all she leaves behind.
One of my favourite stories on the Queen was a BBC article in which Dr David Nott (a volunteer wartime surgeon) who suffered from PTSD recalls his meeting with the Queen.
"I [had been] coping [in Syria] with children that were really badly damaged and she must have detected something significant.
"I didn't know what to say. It wasn't that I didn't want to speak to her - I just couldn't. I just could not say anything.
"She picked all this up and said, 'Well, shall I help you?' I thought, 'How on earth can the Queen help me?'
"All of a sudden the courtiers brought the corgis and the corgis went underneath the table."
Dr Nott said the Queen then opened a tin of biscuits and invited him to feed and stroke the dogs.
He added: "And so for 20 minutes during this lunch the Queen and I fed the dogs. She did it because she knew that I was so seriously traumatised. You know the humanity of what she was doing was unbelievable."
A colour palette makes a huge difference in how your brand can be viewed. And each colour often associates a different meaning.
Pink can be feminine, modern and luxurious, whilst green often feels fresh, renewed and associates to nature.
Sometimes it is hard to find THE colours to the right emotional response in our audience. So here are a few tools that helped me refine my palette.
The Mahalo Creative's palette is designed to be coastal, earthy and fresh.
What do your colours say about your brand? ππ¦π»π₯ππ

It was such a joy to create Seafood on Parade's new website for Peter and Koula.
We took the visual identity of their logo, added some custom graphics and played with the bright colours to create a fresh new website. Their website showcases their late fisherman father's influence. Meet George! (Swipe across β).
The shop is always busy and ever-growing so Peter and Koula wanted an easy way to advertise new positions and update their hours. Our content management system makes it as simple as flicking a switch and typing in their new times.
It's always rewarding to work with people who have been serving their communities for so long. If you are one of their loyal fans let us know what you think in the comments! π
We are excited to share some big news for one of our clients!
Seafood on Parade, has an online home. π
Peter and Koula are brother and sister who out of Seafood on Parade provide South Australians with the freshest seafood. π¦ππ¦
It was important to Peter and Koula to feature their late fisherman father and heritage throughout the site. See if you can spot the subtle Grecian nods in their upcoming site.
Stay posted!
We are live!
