When your grandmother was carrying your mother in her womb, you were a tiny egg in your mothers ovaries. The three of you have been connected a very long time.
We vibrate to the rhythms of our mother's blood before she herself is born, and this pulse is the thread of blood that runs all the way back through the grandmothers to the first mother.
If we are fortunate enough to be afforded the opportunity, listening to and connecting with our mothers and grandmothers stories is the beginning of understanding our own ❤️
Our ovaries are responsible for producing and releasing eggs (oocytes) during ovulation. Your ovaries also produce oestrogen and progesterone.
When many women consider their menstrual cycle they think that it’s all about their ovaries and uterus however there is so much more that goes into this process.
Your ovaries are in constant communication with your hypothalamus and pituitary glands.
Your hypothalamus measures the concentration of different hormones in your blood and based on those concentrations it tells your pituitary gland to send out other hormones (follicle stimulating hormone and luteinising hormone) at exactly the right amount at exactly the right time.
These s*x hormones directly affect how you feel on a daily basis (mood, energy and libido just to name a few).
Having hormone imbalances interferes with the entire communication system and leaves you feeling inconsistent and depleted. It just makes life harder and in the long term can impact your health.
Your hormones directly dictate the way you experience life.
So with that being said, to understand your menstrual cycle is to understand yourself on an intimate level.
I do not teach dry science! I teach in a way that is easily absorbed and directly applicable! I teach what is important and why it is important!

This cocktail will not only enhance your mood and make you feel amazing but they also acts as a natural pain killers.
Or***ms increase blood circulation in your pelvic region which can help to relieve cramps with the help of these neurotransmitters which have also been shown to relieve stress.
An or**sm communicates to your pituitary gland and nervous system to release endorphins which enhance and promote feelings of relaxation and reduce our perception of pain.

Some notes to consider:
👉🏻 If you have a condition such as endometriosis, an or**sm may actually increase pelvic pain 😖
👉🏻 Menstruation is naturally a dry time for your va**na, be sure to use a water based lubricant if you plan on pe*******on.
We all experience our cycle in incredibly unique ways. You could say that your cycle really has a personality of its own. The way we move through our phases and the way we bleed will look completely different between us all.
🌹 This is why the idea of the perfect cycle doesn’t exist.
However, our cycle is always giving us information and it is our job to decode what that means for us and decide when we need to get some help.
I firmly believe that we must all take personal responsibility for our own health and the solutions we seek when things are not quite right.
Advice you read on the internet should never replace an expert opinion. Please take care of yourself.
So what are some 🚩 that should be explored?
🚩 Debilitating pain that is disruptive to your life.
🚩 Blood clots bigger than 2.5cm, heavy bleeding (more than 80ml over your entire period), bleeding that lasts for 7 days or more.
🚩 Missing periods
🚩 Fainting
🚩 Painful bowel movements or urination.
🚩 Migraines, severe breakouts, nausea or vomiting, sore back or excessively sore breasts.
These are all ways your body is communicating something about your health.
It is super important to monitor any period irregularities by charting and tracking them! Looking for patterns.
The ultimate benefit of tracking is that you will have a very accurate and undeniable record to share with a professional to get the help you need and deserve.

I’m coming down from my high after Sundays Menstrual Cycle Alignment Workshop where 14 women came together to learn about the absolute power we hold as women 🔥
Every time I see engaged faces, note taking, curious questions and discussions where nothing is considered taboo, I know that:

PMS and PMDD can be super tough. I've had moments with it where I have felt completely out of control, or as if my life felt out of control.
I used to wander into this time round and round with complete unawareness that my body was moving through a cyclical process.
I didn't think of my body as cyclical at all for the 10 years I was on hormonal contraceptives, let alone the consequences of interrupting my natural rhythm for a decade.
Part of getting to know your cycle is asking yourself questions…Lots of questions over time. I've
always admired how the right questions always seem to appear at exactly the right time for the
next layer to be revealed.

4. I live on the Gold Coast in Australia (but frequent Germany where my boyfriend is from and France)
5. I have Endometriosis (love that for me)

8. I spent 10 years working as a Makeup Artist for film and photography.
9. I didn’t finish high school (because bullying) and was rejected by 3 universities, but I graduated top of my class.
10. I have manifested some pretty crazy things in my lifetime and I send all my requests out to the universe ✨

12. I was vegan for 7 years
13. I now eat mostly plant based but include eggs and fish in my diet.
14. I lived in an Ashram in India for 4 months in 2016 where I completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training.

Over the weekend I posted a question to my story asking you what food freedom means to you.
Many of you answered with things like “to be free from guilt” or “to enjoy food without overthinking it”.
I felt as though this deserved a video response to shine light on the topic of food freedom and hopefully give a fresh perspective so you can begin to move forward from a place of nourishment and self love rather than inadequacy and deprivation.
You are WORTHY of nourishment.
You deserve to feel the abundance of love, community, creativity and vitality that food brings to our life.
No longer will we deprive ourself of participating in life’s celebrations and pleasures out of fear.
I nourish myself with nutrient dense, whole foods because I love myself.
Show your liver some love!
🥦 Eat a high quality, whole food diet rich in Liver Loving foods such as cruciferous vegetables to aid in estrogen processing and support your gut microbiome.
🧘🏻♀️ Prioritise stress reduction by participating in mindfulness activities such as breath work and yoga which are both proven to reduce stress in the body.
🍷 Crowd out your Liver Loaders such as alcohol and caffeine.
🍟 Be mindful of your intake of inflammatory fats like canola oil and trans fats from fast foods.
💃🏻 Go easy and take this one step at a time, this is NOT a diet. This is a lifelong lifestyle that needs to be sustainable and enjoyable. Just focus on one thing at a time.
❤️ Everything must come from a place of love and nourishment because you are WORTHY of feeling and functioning your best. You do not need fixing and you do not need to force yourself to do things you really do not want to do.
⬆️ If you feel overwhelmed, read the point above again! Choose one thing you can do and do it from a place of self-care and love. When it feels integrated, take on the next thing.
⭐️ You are doing amazing! Everything that manifests into physical reality starts out as a thought!

So many of us grew up thinking that our period is one phase and the rest of our cycle is the same.

If you were like me who took hormonal contraceptives blindly for 10 years, this is kind of true as hormonal contraceptives take away the communication between our ovaries and hypothalamus, stopping ovulation (the main event of our menstrual cycle) as a result our natural hormonal fluctuations are blunted and replaced with synthetic hormones.
We are told that this will “BaLaNcE yOuR hORmOnEs” 🥴 which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Our natural hormonal fluctuations and ovulation are key to support women’s overall health.
So many of us are put on these medications unnecessarily for symptoms that can be easily fixed with nutrition and lifestyle changes which only further enhance our health.
Furthermore, these natural fluctuations bring unique strengths and connect us with our feminine essence which is lost in a world that values consistency and productivity over nurturing and creativity.
I’m here to teach you how to work with your innate bodily wisdom and embrace every single season, unlocking the gifts that lie within each phase.
As women, a healthy menstrual cycle is KEY 🔑 to good health and long term heath outcomes.

Many of us grew up believing that our bodies are unacceptable, unpredictable, scary, erratic or shameful.
We're told from a young age we need to treat or manage it through medication.
We are told by media that we need to strive for youth which rips us off of the experience of evolving into the wild, wondrous, and full-spectrum women we are.
Many of us learned from our mothers and grandmothers who were also subject to the oppression of the wild woman. We are taught that we need fixing from the moment our bodies begin to change.
Many of us have accepted unnecessary suffering for years before we reach the point of seeking help to unlearn, relearn and heal.
This is a moment in history where this narrative is being rewritten as more women wake up to their cyclical nature. We’re about to see a strong return of the divine feminine. Will you be part of her return?
My cup overflows after another incredible Menstrual Cycle Alignment workshop today! Today we had a smaller group and I am so grateful for this experience! I felt more myself, more connected, more present, more grounded. We were able to spend extra time journalling and sharing which really is where the magic of the workshop happens.
I’ll admit that this morning before making my way to the workshop I felt a bit let down that the group was at half capacity today, but I am so grateful that I have beautiful friends who pull me up on my BS by reminding me that this has never been about me, this is about the women who feel the call to attend. This is about offering wisdom to their journey.
I’ll always own up when I’m in the wrong and this morning my headspace needed to be checked. What transpired after transmuting disappointment into gratitude was pure magic ✨ my cup is overflowing and I feel absolutely blessed to be sharing these workshops!
I also realised that my self worth is never determined by the numbers because my job is done if even one woman approaches her cycle differently because of this experience.
We’re all learning, and today I learned so much! So thank you to all who were apart of this for me and held space for me to fess up to my own s**t!
I’ll say it a thousand times, women who come together to support and hold space for each other are so powerful!
