Designing a garment is intricate, it’s not just about the look of the final product, it’s about the finer details too. Details like where to stitch, what needle size to use, or how to reinforce seams at stress points so a quality and long lasting garment can be produced. This is my goal when designing and creating garments, to create unique, functional and long lasting garments for you to cherish and hand down through generations.
The creation process is so much fun! I dig through all of my beautiful fabrics to find the patterns and colours that I know will suit my concept. I then sort them into similar weights and patterns so I know what I have before I start designing.
I then dig through all of my trims, buttons, lace and zippers and pull out the ones I want to use. Needless to say, my studio looks like a shamozle, but an organised one at that. It’s a colourful, messy but organised wonderland of possibilities, just waiting to be transformed into unique garments. Can’t wait to show you what I’m creating forfashionfestival

Loving my $4 score from the op shop. knew what they were doing when creating this…those sleeves 😍
I love to mix my wardrobe up with designer, vintage and of course, pieces so I have a very eclectic range of options when choosing outfits. Secondhand does not mean second best. Do you mix your wardrobe up with vintage and second hand pieces?
What are your plans for the weekend? will be hittin the water in her bodysuit, perfect day for it.
Did you know you can book a visit to the studio and see where the magic happens, oh and of course, shop all of the one of a kind goodies I’ve created?
Who loves second hand shopping?
I sure do. I’ve been collecting clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, tea towels, doilies, buttons, trims, zips, unused vintage fabrics (I am in awe of how much pristine, uncut vintage fabric is out in the world), and anything else that sparks emotion since I can remember. The thrill of finding the unique treasures, some of which I alter to fit or others I use to make lovely one off pieces, is second to none.
Do you op shop and alter? Or make using found fabrics? Let me know your fave find or make in the comments, tag me in a post even, I’d love to see your treasures!
Art. Creativity. Inspiration.
A few words I love.
Flashback to the Pop Masters exhibition at where we admired art, fed our creativity and got inspired by some amazing artists.
This year I’ll be running an array of creative workshops, think fashion illustrations, mending your clothes, macrame, collage, clay and more. Hit the comments and tell me what craft you want to learn 👇
One dress, three different fabrics. The beauty of investing in an east of grey piece is knowing you have something no one else has. Each one of these dresses is lovingly made using high quality vintage fabric from my vast collection. I have been collecting various lengths of unused vintage fabrics for decades and they by far beat the quality of modern day fabrics. This means I can create long lasting garments that can be enjoyed by you and passed down through generations. My purpose for east of grey!
Hands up if you l❤️ve vintage fabrics! 🙋♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏾♀️
Love seeing you in your east of grey pieces. The lovely in her one of a kind hoodie. It was a toss up between this and another, but this one really brought out the colour in her eyes, plus she loved the patches.
Meet the Scrappy Tee. Made using all of the offcuts from the singlet range.
Scraps are valuable and this tee proves it….furthermore, you all prove it when you pull this tee off the rack and admire it, commenting on its uniqueness. I love to tell the story of the Scrappy Tee, honestly it takes me hours to cut the scraps into squares, but it is all worth it when I sew it up.
Big thanks to everyone who came out and supported their local artists today, you brought so much joy.
Thanks for organising a rad event and to for the spec location.
This Saturday 21 September is my next pop up at and it should be good. There’s a heap of rad artists all in the one spot so come check it out.
