Did you know that we host Community Education Events? These events inform and guide service providers and the wider community with understanding of: time of death practices; funeral options and practices; grief stages and support options as well as working Crematorium tours.

The response to these tours and presentations has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants walking away with new found knowledge, understanding and appreciation of why Death, Funeral and Grief Literacy is a matter for everyone.

With understanding comes clarity, calm and compassion.

If you are interested in learning more about future educational opportunities, please contact: Gina Connolly [email protected]

* Crematorium Tour and Funeral Information Sessions*

Today some of the staff from Churches of Christ - Seniors Living - Marana Gardens in Southport took the opportunity to find out important information about Funerals and the cremation process on one of our ever increasingly popular tours at Eco Memorial Park.

The caring staff at Marana Gardens wanted to learn about the processes involved in a funeral directors job so that they could have a better understanding and then offer supportive information to their residents and their families when needed.

We also spoke about how important it is to have conversations with your family, friends and carers about your wishes for your end of life. Including: funeral options;
Burial or Cremation; style of commemoration or celebration; coffin type; your personal information; Eulogy; Memorial ornaments and Keepsakes plus so much more.

Everyone is welcome to take a tour and gain valuable information and insight into the workings of a Crematorium.

Our Community Education Liaison has just returned from Europe where she visited several cemeteries and memorial sites.

She was coincidently in Spain during their 3 day celebration:

In Spain, October 31st is known as ‘Día de las Brujas’ (Day of the Witches), better known to us as Halloween.

November 1st as ‘Día de Todos los Santos’ (All Saints Day) A day to commemorate and pay respect to the saints and loved ones by returning to your hometown and laying flowers on the graves of family members.

November 2nd as ‘Día de los Muertos/Difuntos’ (Day of the Dead/All Souls Day)

The word celebrations can only be used loosely as November 1st is a national holiday and this is All Saints Day.

These community celebrations are traditional and religious and part of the fabric of their country in honouring their deceased loved ones on this special day. 🇪🇸

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer.

The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.

She has lived a life of service and may she now Rest in Peace.

Her loss will be truly felt across the globe.

* Past, Present and Future *

There are some changes happening at Eco Memorial Park that we would like to share with you.

We are extending our facilities to incorporate an additional chapel, new after service catering and lounge areas, arrangement rooms and offices.

While there may be some fenced off areas in the grounds and less services in our main chapel, we are working hard to minimise any disruption to the normal operation of the park. We will have a temporary facility available for funeral and memorial services which will be ready very soon.

What will remain the same, is the beautifully cared for memorial gardens tended by our dedicated grounds team.

We look forward to having the new facilities ready for the families in our care.
