6 years ago today I launched my little hobby website Broods Big Bras. Since then my hobby over the years due to demand turned itself into an online business and a home store business, something I never would have imagined for it within 6 years, it just kept on growing, customers kept on returning, more sizes were needed, it got bigger and bigger. I loved every minute of it, I was passionate about the bras, the cause, the women (and the few men) and the message I was helping spread about breasts and bra sizes. I swear there wasn't a week that went by that there wasn't a new battle I had to face, I had never run a business before but that didn't always make a difference, I was always fighting something but at the same time I was also making such a change in peoples lives which really warmed my heart.

Learning to become a fitter and have the home store I found the most rewarding, knowing that ladies were visiting other stores for bras and were then coming to my home store and walking out being re-fitted, new bras in hand and a bigger smile on their face was great. I knew I had done my job well when a lady would arrive at my place shy (to be expected) and a bit nervous about not wearing a top in front of me, I would put them into a bra, adjust it etc, we would discuss the fit and then they would start talking in general, 5-10 minutes would then pass and they would completely forget that they are standing there talking to me in just a bra because the bras are that comfortable.

I was thrilled to receive loyal and returning customers, plus they loved getting special treatment when new stock was coming in, I let them pre-order, I had reward programs, I didn't think at day one that I would have customers coming back enough that I could reward them with a frequent buyer bonus program. I would give free gifts and I even had tote bags, for someone who had never run a business before or been in business I tried my best at looking after my customers as they were important to me, I even became friends with a few of them. Plus it was always fantastic receiving reviews and emails with paragraphs of content from customers saying how they had struggled for years to buy bras and these bras had changed their life and they would thank me and tell me how much it did turn things around for them.

Sure I would love to stay in business, the b***s of Australia still need me to be but too many things have happened over the past year and a half that I just can no longer fight against, I won't go into what the negatives are but please know that I hung in there for as long as I could.

So for now I am closing down, I haven't shut up shop just yet as I still have some stock left over, once that stock is gone then it will be goodbye, so here is your last chance to grab some of the bras at bargain prices (still a flat rate of $10 express shipping), once your size has sold out it is gone for good.

Dear Broods Big Bras Fans
I am sorry to say but the Central Coast home store will remain closed and will not re-open at all, I will no longer be doing home fittings. I want to thank all the women who trusted me enough to come to my house and let me deal with such a delicate body area when I was this small time business. It warmed my heart so much to see you walk into my shop with such frustration and desperation written all over your face, to then see you walk out of my shop with the biggest smile on your face, in my very last fitting the lady actually got her old bra and walked out to my wheelie bin on the road and threw it in the trash, there was no going back for her! I met a lot of lovely ladies and ended up becoming friends with a few which I never expected, so thank you Central Coast ladies for supporting my lil home store

Bit of a late night post, do you like it when businesses give their websites a complete makeover or do you like to see sites stay the same as you already know your way around them?

I have some new bedroom furniture arriving soon and last night I was going through my chest of drawers and I came across my first training bra and first underwire bra, they were sooo tiny lol
