If you want to radically transform your wellbeing & sense of connection to the earth, there is one major thing you need to look at & most people forget it. It’s not growing your own organic food It’s not having a having ice baths It’s not learning bushcraft skills Although all of those are wonderful things too. It’s your relationship to LIGHT ✨️ For 99.99% of human history, our lives have been forged around light. Before the invention of electricity, we awoke with the dawn & slept in the fall of darkness. We shared stories as we watched flames dance, stimulating alpha brain wave activity to prepare us for deep restorative sleep. Important meetings also occurred around the fire as the brain was most primed for creative thinking & idea generation. Our daily activities were guided by the seasons, the cyclic patterns of the wild as we move through the year. Other ceremonies were informed by planetary or star placements whose light revealed the need for action & attention. Women bled together on the dark moon, their hormones rhythmically sensitive to the shadows in the sky. And ovulated on the bright full moon, when men’s sperm count was also at its peak. The function of nearly every tissue & organ in our body followed a circadian clock based on light exposure. We built temples & time structures to honour the sun & moon gods. We celebrated the days of our birth, marriages, deaths etc on the solar return of that day each year. Our lives revolved around light! And they still do. But many underestimate how changes to our light exposure due to artificial light have radically altered our wellbeing beyond imagine. Most people have no idea what to grow in their region & when because we're not outside enough to notice the subtle seasonal changes. Most women's menstrual cycles are all over the place because we are exposed to blue light. Most sleep with the blinds closed to avoid the morning sun & rarely soak in sunset rays that inform our chrono

Is the comfortable life killing us? What are your thoughts? Here’s a little snippet from a chat between our Co-Founder Darvis Walker & Justin West from @forgingexcalibur on the topic. #natureculture #wildman

Who remembers this cult classic? 😍 I've been taking a walk down memory lane this week & reflecting on both my own life stories, and the stories that have shaped me. More so, I've been exploring the cross over... How the stories I read or watched (like this Jim Henson icon that I probably watched way too young coz its a bit scary 🤣) and how the stories of my personal life weave together in a greater tapestry. As if it was all part of a master plan or larger thread unfolding. I look back on my past experiences full of adventure & my current journey as a rewilding mentor and rites of passage guide, and I can see the influence of old stories I first recieved as a child and how they've penetrated my psyche like a sewing needle. Weaving all the parts of me that were needed for the role I had to fulfill in this incarnation. It was hard to see it until I stepped back and saw the way I was stitched up right from the very beginning 😉 Only now do I really understand why the great storyteller Dr Martin Shaw suggests that's its not us that claim stories, but rather stories that claim us. So my dear friend, what story has claimed you? Who's tale are you living? And what if the old stories, conscious and animated as they are, have been weaving your life all along? Does it seem that bizarre that stories could have such power? Perhaps...but one does question why stories played such a central role in cultural transfer & healthy human development in all earth-centric or regenerative cultures. Maybe seeing through mythic eyes is central to our wellbeing at a soul level and navigating the wild adventures and heartbreaks of life with allowance and understan. Could be... If this evoked a curiousity in you, then I'd say the mystery is calling to your attention. And tonight, you're in luck! TONIGHT AT 7PM, the wonderful Nathan Meola (Bear Heart) and I (Britt) are offering an evening of loom and lore, sharing two stories for your bedtime delight. 🔥 Light a candle

🌿 SALTY SAMPHIRE 🌿 I was on my morning walk & found this amazing patch of SAMPHIRE - check it out! Samphire is an edible perennial succulent that grows along coastlines, salt marshes, and mudflats 🌊 Some other names for this wild edible include sea asparagus, swamp grass, glasswort, and pickleweed. Samphire is an edge species that loves to grow in highly saline environments making it a salty snack full of calcium, folic acid, and vitamin A. The foliage is shiny and knobbly, with colours ranging from green to red to purple depending on the season, but the leaves are considered best for eating in the warmer months when they are bright green and fresh. The leaves can be pickled, stir-fried, steamed, blanched, added to pestop, or tossed in a salad raw for some extra crunch - just be mindful of the woody stalk in the centre 🥗 It's also important to keep in mind that salt marshes are classified as endangered ecological habitats so be mindful of your local laws & always apply the principles of the honourable harvest (research Robin Wall Kimerer's term 'honourable harvest' to learn more). Happy foraging folks! 💚

Hear Isabelle Sleinis share her incredible story about sleeping the earth shelter at the last Wild Woman Immerison. Sleeping in the wild shelters is often an edgy or scary experience for most women but there hasn’t been a single participant there’s ever regretted it. I absolutely understand the fear though - I was bone-shakingly terrified of the dark my whole life, let alone sleeping alone in the bush. But I guarantee you, we will hold you through it and I will support you with everything I know from my own journey of integrating my own fears. Listen to Isabelle about why! 🌿 If you’re keen to go beyond your comfort zone with the lovely support of a whole team of wild midwifes, now is the time! 🔥 Super Early Bird closes TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT - it’s your last chance to get $400 off 🔥 The next immersion is in Spring 2023, 25th Aug - 3rd Sept in The Channon NSW (Widjabul Wia-bul Country, Bundjalung Nation) Extended payment plans available (pay it off over 8 months) 💚 More info: https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/wildwoman2023

Talk about a versatile plant ally yo! Pigface (Carprbrotus) is an incredibly multifaceted native species to Australia (with varieties also native to South Africa & Chile). For those new to wild foraging, this is an amazing beginner plant as it's easy to identify, and every part is edible. As always when foraging, apply the caretakers or honourable harvest principle. Robin Wall Kimerer, Potawatomi woman and author of 'Braiding Sweetgrass' says it perfectly: Ask permission of the ones whose lives you seek (i.e the plant or animal). Abide by the answer. Never take the first. Never take the last. Harvest in a way that minimizes harm. Take only what you need and leave some for others. Use everything that you take. Take only that which is given to you. Share it, as the Earth has shared with you. Be grateful. Reciprocate the gift. Sustain the ones who sustain you. 💗💗💗💗 #natureculture #wildforaging #pigface #wildwoman

You’ve got fire inside you waiting to be birthed 🔥 Fire is a living being that has the capacity to see things in you that you cannot see. Fire knows you better than you know you. It slices through your ego, and understands what’s really underneath. It remembers what you have forgotten. Even scientific studies show that there’s a specific kind of consciousness in us that only campfires can evoke. Our hearts and imaginations open in a unique and measurable way. Fire sure as hell doesn’t give a damn about your ‘prettiness’ or perfection’ It wants your grit, your sweat, your wild howls, your determination, your surrender. It was you on your knees, praying that the world may remember you. As you remember yourself. Creative being, it’s time to midwife the fire inside of you before it burns the whole house down and you along with it. Let us show you how. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Wild Woman: The Immersion 25th Aug - 3rd Sept Bundjalung Country, Northern Rivers NSW Payment plans & scholarships available SUPER EARLY BIRD CLOSING THIS FRIDAY - last chance to save $400! 🌙 DAY 5 : DEATH & DIGEST 🌙 It’s still Day 5 of the EARTHED Framework & there’s actually 2 videos today. And the final stage we’re covering is DEATH AND DIGEST Death refers to the completion of identities, attachments, and stories that you once held dear or that gave you comfort, but after traversing this journey and remembering the much deeper truth inside you, you realise you have outgrown the old. Death is a normal and necessary part of the cycle that we kinda suck at it modern society. Most people associate their worth with their level of productivity and devalue rest and reflection as keys aspect of being a whole, balanced human. We see this reflected in women’s menstrual cycles and the lack of reverence for that sacred time of death and renewal. A point to highlight there is RENEWAL 🌱 We simply MUST have death to experience REBIRTH. Look to your garden and notice that every seed requires compost to support healthy new growth. Digestion is also what enables the REBITH to occur and importantly LAST. Digestion is the process of integrating your experiences so they become part of you as a somatic level. It’s also about incorporating your learning into your daily life in a way that changes your whole frequency🧬 It’s similar to digesting food in this way, you take time to rest and absorb all the nutrients that literally become your blood, cells, bones, and YOU as a whole. If you’ve ever seen a snake eat its prey, you will know that the time of digestion is also the most vulnerable time. It’s easy to slip into old habits or be influenced at this time but what snake tells us, is that we need to protect this time as a sacred aspect of our bodily becoming🐍 Much like how we might protect a newborn baby even. 👏 And that’s a wrap on the 5 stages of the frameowrk - I can’t wait to see you tomorrow at the masterclass Keen to join? 👉 We go LIVE tomorrow at 9:30am for an in-depth masterclass on The EARTHED Framework Repla

🌱 DAY 5 : EMERGENCE 🌱 It’s Day 5 of the Earthed framework & today we are talking about EMERGENCE - the second letter E in the acromnym. This is where we witness the magical nature of your SOUL or purpose - remembering purpose is not about what you do, it’s the quality of your being and how life wants to move through you to support its own evolution 🌏 And what is framework reveals is that purpose/soul is EMERGENT So what is emergence? 🤷‍♀️ Emergence describes the phenomenon when individual components of a larger system come together and create completely new and dynamic behaviours that weren’t possible before 🌈 So in order words, entirely new expressions "emerge" Examples of emergence in nature include: 🦜 A flock of birds 🐜 An ant colony, 🐠 Or a school of fish In all examples, there is no leader in control of the process, they are self-organising systems that naturally result from individual beings fulfilling their innate role, and when they come together a kind of collective consciousness arises where the all move in away that’s in service to the whole. Even you are an emergent being - your body is an ecology made up of trillions of microbial cells that are doing their individual things in your body as yet when they are work together, they create you 🤸‍♀️ So what’s the point here? Well the way in which self-organisation occurs in through sensory awareness. Each individual being is so energetically sensitive to the wellbeing on the whole, that their purpose or role EMERGES in service to it. And humans are no different 🙌 Our purpose or soul emerges through our somatic attunement to the ecosystem of which we are a part of. You see purpose isn’t the titles or achievements - its about awakening your ecological identity 🌿 It’s profound process of self-realisation where yoy experience the fullness of who you really are. And that you soul or purpose is as aspect of the anima mundi, or world soul.

⚡️DAY 4 :TRANSMUTE & HARVEST ⚡️ It’s Day 4 of the EARTHED Framework and we are talking about Transmuting and Harvesting; The TH part of the acronym. This is where we begin our descent for the purpose of alchemisation 🌀 This phase of the EARTHED framework centres on Emotional Mastery. I’ll just tell you straight up, that in order to access the spaciousness required for your purpose to emerge and for you to open the pathways of somatic communication with the earth - you must be willing to dive into your emotional landscape and transmute your pain into power 🔥 This is probably the most misunderstood, feared and resisted aspect of the framework which is interesting when you discover what energy of the cycles it aligns with 🤔 Most people struggle with responsible emotional expression, they might permission to talk or think about how you feel but we rarely actually FEEL, MOVE, and ALCHEMISE our pain. Emotions tens to get a bad wrap when attach our stories, add shame and internally collapse. But would it help you to know that as a naturally empathic ecological beings, what your sensing and suppressing is most often not even yours? This is not about wallowing however, this is an intentional process to truly go in for the sake of energetic liberation, and harvest the gold underneath. Feel stuck, hopeless, or numbered out? Well your emotions are your ticket to freedom. This is why I call pain the portal to your becoming ⚡️ 👉 If this hit home for you, we will be discussing the framework in detail this Saturday. Come join us at the class - more info here: https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/earthed

🔥 DAY 3: RE-MEMBER 🔥 The letter R within the EARTHED Framework stands for RE-MEMBER. Now when I say re-member, I don’t mean improving your memory ❌️ Member here refers to the body 💃 So to RE-member means to re-inhabit our bodies and embrace the true nature of being human. Which is why you came here! This portion of the EARTHED Framework explores the link between disembodiment and our disconnection from the earth, not to mention the creative pulse of life that wants to move through you 🌀 It also shines a light on sensuality as a key factor in building felt bonds with the natural world and even understanding our mission or life’s work. This is where we truly start to peel back the controls of the mind and lean in to the language of the body. It’s not just about getting comfortable with our own feminine here, it’s a total rewilding and realignment with our intuitive animal bodies 🐺 that are deeply attuned to the mysteries of the universe in a way that the mind will never fully understand. In doing so, we surrender our need to be the dominant, knowing or controlling force and finally allow the wisdom of the earth, with her intelligent shades and seasons, to rise up and through us 🌏 And it starts to get real juicy from here! 👉 To learn more about the role of eros in our relatedness with the earth - we’re diving in this Saturday at the next masterclass. The EARTHED Framework Masterclass April 15th, 9:30am AEST Replay available https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/earthed Join for us for some fun!

❤️ DAY 2: ALLIES ❤️ The letter A of the EARTHED Framework stands for ALLIES An ally is someone or something that you can call on for support or guidance in your pursuit towards a common purpose or cause. 📖 In myths, allies represent a character who comes to assist the main protagonist on their journey into the unknown and they are someone that can be relied upon in challenging times. Like a sidekick. Think of Mushu and Mulan 🐉 Now the way myths work is that all characters aren’t seperate, external forms. Instead each character represent different parts of our own psyche or internal ecology 🌿 So you could say psychologically, allies in a mythological context represent unused or unexpressed parts of ourselves that can offer guidance based on our deeper knowing or inner wisdom. So how does this relate to eco-somatics? Well the journey back home into embodied relationship with the earth is like any other journey, and as we step forth on the path, we need reliable allies to lean on and back us 🤝 Within the EARTHED Framework - there are 6️⃣ key inner allies that are critical to integrating the framework into our lives and in culture Much of the content I discuss about ALLIES in often left out of many transformational programs and many women has called it the game-changer when it comes creating lasting impact in their lives. And I’ll give you a little hint - understanding the nervous system is a big component here ✅️ 👉 If you’re keen to discover more about these allies - come join us at the next masterclass. April 15th, 9:30am AEST Via Zoom Replays available for those who can't join live https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/earthed

5 Days of The EARTHED Framework 🔥 The world of eco-somatics tells us that to come home to our innate belonging to the earth and rediscover our power as ecological beings - we must do so through our body. But how do we do that? 🤷‍♀️ Over the next 5 days 🖐, I’ll be sharing bite size chunks of the EARTHED Framework which is an acronym that offers step-by-step guidance on how we come back into embodied relationship with the animate world and our own sense of purpose. The framework is based on academic research and practice-based knowledge that intersects somatics, ecology, mythology, neuroscience, and bio-cultural studies. And if you’re keen for a deep dive - you can join my new masterclass where I explain the whole framework for rewilding culture in depth 🌿 This class is designed for women but all are welcome ❤️ 👉 More info here: https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/earthed

🌀 DAY 1: ENERGY🌀 The EARTHED Framework is an acronym that serves as an eco-somatic map for coming home to our embodied relationship with the animate world. It's basically rewilding culture from the inside out! The first letter of the framework stands for ENERGY. This part of the framework explores in detail how energy pulses through nature in distinct patterns and rhythms. If you understand how energy moves through ecological systems, you can use this wisdom for personal and collective guidance. This barely scratches the surface of the topic but if you're keen to dive deeper, we are covering this in depth at the next masterclass. 👉 The class is happening LIVE on April 15th, 9:30am AEST. Recordings are available for those who can't make it live. More info here: https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/earthed

🌿 What is Eco-Somatics? 🌿 Eco-Somatics merges the field of somatics and deep ecology. Somatics recognises the body as a source of knowing, a source of wisdom or innate intelligence from which we can orient our lives 💃 Whereas Deep Ecology is a study of philosophy that understands our interconnectedness with all of life, and that there is intrinsic value and even consciousness that exists in the wider ecology. So eco-somatics acknowledges that the way in which we understand and PRACTICE our interconnectedness to the animate world is through our bodies, and that conceptual understanding through the mind is NOT enough to create restoration in our personal lives and in culture. Thus, eco-somatics is an incredibly healing modality because one of the most primal wounds that we carry as humans is the wound of separation or disconnection. And the impact of that is not hard to find... Most modern humans suffer from the belief that they just don’t belong, they aren’t connected to a specific place or landscape, and they feel disembodied from their internal ecology as a result of trauma, shame or fear. So this work of eco-somatics can be incredibly healing for us personally. But I’ve also found in my PhD on this topic, that coming home to the earth through our embodied practice is actually restorative to the Earth herself. And if you’re interested in how this is possible - I invite you to join my upcoming masterclass on The EARTHED Framework 🌀 ✅ In this masterclass, I take you step-by-step through an experiential map for bridging nature and culture in our personal life and in culture. This is the EXACT SAME framework that guides all my in-person immersions which normally cost over $2000! But you are getting access to it for the first time online for a crazily low price! 😍🥳 👉 More info here: https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/earthed The LIVE Masterclass will be on April 15th, 9:30am AEST Recording is available if you can't j

💧Do you know how to filter water in the wild if you had to? Sadly, most natural water sources today are heavily polluted and even wild water sources can cause tummy upsets if you’re not used to drinking it. So what options do you have? 🤷‍♀️ On my recent visit to the Tarkine, I noticed lots of MOSS, including Sphagnum moss growing on the forest floor. Moss is one of nature’s best natural water filters 💧🌿👌 When water circulates through moss, bacteria doesn’t have the opportunity to form biofilms & bacteria doesn’t grow well on moss in general since it’s acidic ❌️🦠 Still sounding a bit sketchy? Well did you know that there is a moss landscape in Columbia that is responsible for 70% of the country’s fresh water? The moss there traps moisture from the Andean mountains, stores it in the soil & then releases it gradually to the lowlands. When the water passes through the moss, it’s so clean it’s considered safe to drink for about 40 million people across Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador 💃 Extensive studies also found that moss could even filter out microplastics! Feeling a bit more at ease about using moss now? 😍 Some other uses for moss include toilet paper, fire tinder when dry, and shelter insulation. World War I soldiers even used Sphagnum moss to clean and dress wounds as it contains iodine which helps keep wounds sterile. 👉 Follow, like & share for more helpful videos like this

Got an ant bite? Meet Bracken Fern 🌿 If you’re ever wandering through the bush and happen to get stung by an ant or an insect: This is Bracken Fern 🌿 and it is your best ally! Bracken Fern is a native perennial fern to Australia, and grows quite prolifically in temperate climates and in high rainfall areas. When you get a sting, you can mash up the new, unfurled fronds into a paste and rub it directly on the skin 👌 The juices in the fern will stop the pain almost immediately; easing the itch and reducing the swelling 😌 Some people also use the juices from inside the broken stem or roots but I've always found the fresh fiddleheads (new fronds) to be effective if you don't want to kill the plant. Some have called Bracken Fern 'Nature's Stingoes' or a miracle remedy, especially if you have a screaming child with a bull ant bite (which it is exceptionally effective on) 🐜 The fronds stay fresh for about 24 hours so if you’re going for a bushwalk, you can stash some in your pocket just in case. Kids also love using this bush medicine because it’s super easy to identify and use 🤸‍♀️ 👉 Do you have another wild remedy for ant or insect bites that you love? Comment below 💚
