It’s F**k yeah Friday, so I’m also going to share a poem and my f**k yeah moment for this week……
My co-parent did something that triggered me, like full fight mode trigger. Using the tools I have learnt, I was able to process my emotions and default reactions, avert from entering defensive mode and be able to hold much needed space for my child after they finished time with the co-parent.
Because I know Fridays usually bring about a change for many co-parents. I’ve written a little something that’s a bit tongue-in-cheek about my co-parenting experience so far.
In the realm of solo parenting, where chaos reigns supreme,
I juggle life’s demands, I’m the multitasking queen.
I have 2 personas’, one guides my little crew,
While the other tackles challenges, that my Ex and I ensue.
Scheduling becomes an art form, a total balancing act,
Juggling school, work, and activities, well, that’s just a fact.
But I've accommodated you, so I’ve got a knack for making it fit,
Armed with colour-coded calendars I’m the scheduling whiz-kid.
My friends the struggle is real, as we navigate this ride,
Dealing with a co-parent who often disappoints with pride.
I negotiate with my co-parent like a seasoned diplomat,
Finding common ground, avoiding battles, just like that.
Oh the solo parent struggle, it’s a wild and scary ride,
But I face it with humour, and my kindness gives me pride.
So here’s to all the co-parents out there, doing their very best,
You’re superheros in disguise, passing life’s toughest test.
So let’s raise a glass to Friday, a day to celebrate,
The triumphs and the challenges we face and don’t hesitate,
For in this crazy journey, we find our strength and grace,
And say, F**k yeah to my co-parents, you are really rocking this place.

Let's finish the week with a laugh. I know how heavy things can get when you're dealing with a separation. So to top off the week I've written a Divorce Prayer & Ode to my Ex.
Oh, my dear ex, what a handful you were,
A master of drama, a true connoisseur.
I have broken free from your toxic ways,
And celebrate life and much brighter days.
Oh Divine, bless me with humour,
To see their absurdity, and not be a rumour.
Give me the strength to swiftly move on,
And create a life where joy can now spawn.
Oh, my dear ex, how I felt such fright,
From your toxic antics, all day and night.
I’ll take those memories, and turn them around,
Into hilarious tales, the world will astound.
Oh Divine, bless me with comic relief,
To find the humour, amidst all of this grief.
Make happiness my guide, and I’ll forge ahead,
Embracing absurdity, with a smile widespread.
Oh my dear ex, on your own karmic path,
I hope you give love, instead of your wrath.
I hope you find strength to be happy now,
And let go of the bitterness that you have found.
Oh Divine, thanks for this chance,
To find humour in a toxic romance.
With laughter as my compass, I’ll surely thrive,
In this new chapter, where joy will revive.

We all know that breakups can be tough, but it doesn’t mean we have to let negativity take over. Here are a few tips to help you maintain a healthy and upbeat communication with your ex:
1. Keep it respectful: Treat your ex with kindness and understanding, just as you would with any other person. This will create a positive atmosphere for both of you.
2. Focus on the present: Leave the past in the past. When communicating, try to focus on the present moment and the topic at hand. Dwelling on past issues will only hinder progress and prevent positive interactions.
3. Listen actively: communication is a two-way street, so make sure you actively listen to what your ex has to say. Try to understand their perspective.
4. Be clear and concise: Avoid misunderstandings by being clear and concise in your communication. Express yourself in a straightforward manner, without leaving room for misinterpretation. This will help you both navigate conversations smoothly/.
5. Set boundaries: It’s essential to establish boundaries to protect your emotional well-being. Clearly communicate what you’re comfortable discussing and what topics are off-limits. Respecting each other’s boundaries will contribute to a positive and respectful dynamic.
6. Focus on the Positive: Instead of dwelling on past conflicts, try to focus on the positive aspects of your relationship.
Remember, effective communication with your ex doesn’t mean you have to be best friends or rekindle the romance. It’s about finding common ground, fostering respect and moving forward in a positive way.
Let’s embrace the power of communication and create a supportive environment for everyone involved. Spread love, understanding and positivity!
Life can throw unexpected curveballs our way, and going through a separation is undoubtedly one of the toughest challenges we can face. But guess what? We are resilient, strong and capable of bouncing back even better than before!
Here are some fantastic self-care tips that will help you regain you confidence.:
1. Prioritise self love: Start by reminding yourself that you are worthy of love and respect. Treat yourself with kindness, compassion, and respect. Embrace your uniqueness and celebrate all the amazing qualities that make you, YOU!
2. Embrace self-discovery: Use this time to reconnect with yourself and explore new passions. Rediscover old hobbies or dive headfirst into something completely out of your comfort zone. The world is your oyster, and there’s no limit to what you can achieve!
3. Surround yourself with positivity: Surround yourself with uplifting people who inspire and motivate you. Seek support from your friends, family or even join support groups where you can connect with others who have walked a similar path.
4. Nourish your mind and body: Take care of yourself both inside and out. Engage in activities that bring you joy, whether it’s hitting the gym, going for a hike, or indulging in a well-deserved pampering session. Remember, self-care is not selfish; it’s essential for our overall well-being!
5. Set new goals: Use this fresh start as an opportunity to set new goals and aspirations for yourself. Dream big and believe in your ability to achieve them. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a step towards reclaiming your confidence and creating the life you deserve.
Remember, divorce or separation doesn’t define us. It’s merely a chapter in our journey.
Embrace this chance to rediscover yourself, love yourself fiercely, and ooze confidence like never before!
If you have any self-care tips or personal victories to share, drop them in the comments. Together, we can inspire and uplift one another to become the best versions of ourselves!
Happy World Chocolate Day!!!
Need a 'reason' to eat chocolate? Studies have shown eating chocolate can:
1. reduce the risk of heart disease.
2. improve memory.
3. reduce stress.
4. help protect your skin.
Separation is expensive. So, here are some tips to help you navigate the issue of your legal fees:
1. Research and Compare: Before settling on a lawyer. Research lawyers and compare their fees, experience & reputation. Look for lawyers who specialise in family law & have a track record for being client focused.
2. Initial Consultation: Sometimes lawyers offer a reduced fee initial consult. Take advantage of this to discuss your case, understand their fee structure and ask any questions you may have. This will help you gauge if they are right for you.
3. Fee structure: Lawyers charge an hourly rate or a flat fee for family law cases. To help you assess the potential expenses and negotiate accordingly. Understand the fee structure and ask for a breakdown of the costs.
4. Scope of Work: Clearly define the scope of the work with your lawyer. By having a clear understanding of what you’re paying for, you can negotiate a fair fee that aligns with your needs. Discuss what services are included and what is an additional charge.
5. Fee Negotiation: Don’t be afraid to negotiate! Lawyers understand the financial challenges you face, and many are open to discussing fees. Be honest about your financial situation. Some lawyers offer payment plans or reduced rates.
6. Communication: Open and honest communication is key. Discuss your budget and financial constraints with your lawyer. They may be able to suggest cost-saving measures or alternative approaches to keep legal fees manageable.
7. Legal Aid and Pro Bono Services: If you’re facing financial hardship, explore legal aid or pro-bono services in your area. These resources can provide free or low-cost legal assistance.
Remember, negotiating legal fees is a common practice, and most lawyers are willing to work with you to find a mutually beneficial arrangement.
By being proactive, informed, and open about your financial situation, you can navigate the separation process while minimizing the financial strain.
