I want to make post to remind everyone to please keep checking on yourselves. Mental illness affects everyone, either you know someone who is struggling or you are dealing with it yourself, or you know someone who has passed via su***de. It's very important to remember our mind is just as important as our physical self. I chose the black dog institute as I have deal with mental illness my entire life, and I know many who also deal with it. I find it very important, and i've made it my mission to show the world that mental illness is nothing to be afraid or ashamed of. Even today, in 2022 people are still living in fear, or shame thinking they can't talk about it or that it's something to be ashamed of, which it is not. Mental health can seem like such a taboo subject, but I do think it's time to change that! I am raising money for the black dog institute because it helps them fund their resources, and continue their research into mental health. You never know, you might know someone who has used their website to help themselves, or to educate themselves. Please, I think it's so important to continue to raise money for the institute, I am so grateful to everyone who has helped so far. Tomorrow i'll be stopping taking donations in preparation of the pageant. If you want to help me, help them please do not hesitate in donating, no matter the $ amount it does not matter as every dollar really does count. The institute and I will be forever grateful. We are so close to my goal, I would love to send off a full $500 at the end of this.

Lauren Jordan I'm raising money for a cause close to my heart and would love your support.

Su***de & Self-harm facts and information - Black Dog Institute 27/02/2022

Just a small post to remind people to check on their friends and family. Especially their male loved ones. Mental illness does not discriminate, and often men feel they have to hide what’s going on due to feeling like it isn’t ok to not feel ok, or to be sensitive, or to struggle with their emotions. It’s not always a black and white situation. Please, don’t hold back. If you notice someone struggling, speak up! Offer a hand or ear. As my chosen charity is Black Dog Institute I find it very fitting that I can speak up. Keep an eye on your loved ones, you never know who is struggling deep inside their mind.

Thought I would do a quick share of a video from not only a fellow competitor but one of my closest friends. It's always so important to remember that mental illness is not something to be ashamed of, it doesn't define you. You are you regardless of any health problems you may have. Go check out Chantal's page, she is using her platform to raise awareness and funds to the national breast cancer foundation.

Back to school means back to dance! Dance is up and running for 2022 and I’m so excited. I have been dancing since I was a kid and has been apart of my life ever since. I dance at Cosmic Dance in Moonah, Tasmania. A family orientated, all inclusive school no matter your background or ability level. I am also a dance teacher assistant, where I assist in multiple classes ranging from our tiny tots (18+ months) to our teens, a range of different styles and competitive to non competitive. I absolutely love being an assistant, I love being around the children and seeing them learn and grow as not just dancers, but as people. Cosmic Dance is very supportive of my pageant journey, I’m so grateful to have such a big support system here.

Last night I and some of my dance friends went along to the Theatre Royal here in Hobart (it’s also the oldest working theatre in Australia!) to go watch the Nxtgen Project. The NxtGen Project is directed by choreographer Bj Rorke, it’s a program where young dancers come together and learn what it’s like to be a professional dancer and put on a show at a professionals standard and in just 8 days. We have so many talented dancers here in Hobart, special mention to little Ellie McMahon who was there representing Cosmic Dance in the show. It was a great show, very entertaining.

I can’t wait until I get my World International Royalty sash so I can start wearing it at appearances!

Don’t forget to donate to my chosen charity The Black Dog Institute. Any donation big or small is always appreciated by me and the team at The Black Dog Institute
