Hi guys! Just wanting to talk about something that came up recently. Im sorry its a bit of a long one!
When booking a date in advance at Rhiannons, u may have noticed that I always ask that u "confirm the time on the day". I understand this can be inconvenient for some. You've already contacted me, so why do I ask u to confirm on the day?..
Before u arrive I need to make sure every thing has been cleaned and wiped down, i need to fire up my auto clav, and then I need to wait for u to arrive. If for any reason u are not coming, that then becomes wasted time preparing for u, and waiting for u.
I'm not upset if u can't make it. Maybe u forgot, (maybe I did!), maybe u changed your mind, spent too much at kmart and will need to reschedule etc etc.
Regardless of the reason, u absolutely do not have to disclose the details to me and i will never ask u to! U are entitled to cancel for any reason.
I don't always get notified of the need to cancel, which means that person just becomes a no show.
unfortunately last week my request for confirmation had a client a bit irritated. She could not understand why the original booking made many weeks ago, was not confirmation enough for me.
I hope to avoid any clients feeling bothered for this same reason in the future.
I do apologise if this is an annoying or seemingly unnecessary step for anyone.
Please remember that life happens. For both urself, and me. This request helps me to best manage my time and schedule other clients hoping for a short notice booking.

At the end if our busy days, I think alot of us jump online and have a bit of a browse, hoping to treat ourselves to something cool. Retail therapy, if you will.
But then there's me. I don't shop for myself during wind down time. I shop for YOU GUYS! I get on to my ABK and I scroll for hours looking for new tapers, new forceps, new jewellery.
I never switch off from my studio mode, because my passion is too strong.
I do my best to keep up with the forever changing industry. If they design a new style of any equipment, I must have it! I will continue to grow and upgrade in line with the industry, and
I do it all for YOU! I do it to give you options, to make you comfortable, to minimise pain, to provide you with quality piercings, advice and quality jewellery.
Rhiannons is always growing and advancing.
My goal: to leave you happy and satisfied after your experience here with me.

I have had some very brave women sit in my chair over the years, but this gorgeous soldier might be the bravest yet! Dimples were previously pierced else where, and our girl here took them out at some point and ended up regretting it. She never stopped missing them since.. That's where I come in 🤗 freshly pierced dimples to make her feel like herself again! She sat like a beast and didn't move a muscle! But the best part, is that they could have seen her smile from outer space when she saw she had them back finally. 😍😍

Feedback from a repeat client who now brings her kids to see me 🥰🥰🥰 I am so happy she loves her ear piercings, she certainly made me work for it the brave girl! I adore having people touch base after they've been in, to let me know how they feel. I'm so very happy Luna loves her bling. Luna and rhiannon picked the jewellery together, and I think they made the right choice. Absolutely beautiful big girl. Very proud of u.

Sorry guys, just a brief rant. Please, please contact me via my page, or my phone if you want your piercings. I do not allow anyone to just turn up at my door. I apologise if that seems rude, but as a home business, walk ins are not accepted. it is the door to our home that you are knocking on if you turn up unannounced/unexpected. My son and i are entitled to our time behind our closed door.. I do my absolute best to work around you and your schedule when we agree on a booking time, and i am very flexible about that. My door only becomes the business door once it has be prearranged that you will arrive at a certain time.
If you knock on my door and ask me "up for doing a piercing today?" I can almost guarantee the answer will be no. 🙃

Something REALLY special happened at Rhiannons today and I'm thrilled to share it. Your little country mouse has been noticed in this big world, and has been offered a guest piercer opportunity in a studio in Hobart, starting at the end of winter this year!! To say I'm thrilled would be an understatement. I am so proud of my self for all I have achieved on my piercing journey, and I'm so greatful to every single one of you that has sat in my chair throughout the years. Thank you ALL for being apart of the journey, and for continuing on the journey with me! I can't wait to tell everyone all about the experience afterwards! Don't worry, my chair is still available and ready for you. Ill never stay away from my own studio for too long.
(And yes, This is a person who i do know personally, in fact we used to live together before she went away to tasmania.) 😁😁

Every tool used at Rhiannons is always cleaned and sterilised at high temperatures so no germs could possibly survive. Promising to deliver clean, sterile piercings, every time.

Just a brief run down what i really do, and whats really important in this line of work:
Being a piercer looks so fun and chill, right? Wrong! Well, it is alot of fun.. BUT it's not chill. It's a serious profession that requires skills and patience. You need a steady hand, a good eye. You need confidence to be able to get along with absolutely anyone who sits in your chair. You need to be able to educate, communicate and be kind to absolutely anyone who sits in your chair. You need to inject well placed humour and still offer sympathy and compassion.
As a piercer you WILL in your career, hear things like
"She did it crooked"
"It's in the wrong spot"
You need to be prepared to mess up, with a strong enough back bone to take it. And u MUST offer a solution to the problem. U are responsible for your own errors. We are only human!
You need to be up to date and continually learning first aid, cross contamination, anatomy of the human body. This is a huge responsibility and if taken lightly, CAN become very dangerous. You need to clean, scrub, sort, sterilise, constantly.
You are also putting your self at risk of blood borne disease such as HIV. It only takes one slip up. U must be so very careful with every needle. You will see blood, tears, saliva, sweat, bad breath, body odours, snot. Everything really. But u must keep yourself clean and well presented, with no bad smells of your own.
There's alot more involved than u would think. It may look easy, but from the other end of the needle, this s**t is important, it's hard, and it's nothing like u think it is. This is not a light hearted career choice. I will never put down my piercing tools until the day I can't see anymore. I love this job with every fibre in my body, but I know what my responsibilities are and they are always in the back ground, of every piercing I do.

Please, be kind to your piercer. They worked so hard to get where they are and they really do want you to leave feeling happy.

Let me talk about industrial piercings.. I hate them! I will pierce them, after I have tried my best to talk you out of it first. Let's look at the pictures. Firstly, an industrial is 2 separate piercings in the cartilage of your ear. These 2 piercings must be absolutely, without a doubt, lined up. Imagine the pressure put on each piercing, being forced to take the other piercings angle. (Picture 1, these are not 2 perfectly aligned piercings) the jewellery must be long enough to prevent squashing the ear (picture 2) and ideally, the healing process should be done as 2 individual piercings (picture 3)
The reason this is my least favourite is the risk of keloid is extreme! The healing process is long! The infection rate is high! The 2 piercings cannot be even a mm out of line of each other! The risk of damage to the piercings is severe from hair wraping around, or other situations it could get pulled, such as sunglasses or a hair brush. This is also an extremely painful piercing, even tho it doesnt look it.. this piercing is possible. But it is hard to pierce, hard to heal and hard to care for. Please, do your research before you decide an industrial is right for you!

I'm still not done! I have so many big plans. I am thankful to each and every canvas that has ever walked in the door. I am thankful for every one that has ever become a friend after walking out of the door. what started as a little girl popping ear piercings in her dolls, led to a girl with a sharp pin putting earings in her friends (and self) on the school oval, to now, a grown adult with more than a decade of experience, with a full size home studio and a passion that just keeps growing. I have grown in to exactly what I always wanted to. A well trusted, inviting, inclusive body artist. I am proud, but above all, I am greatful. Im greatful my hobby turned in to a part of my life, greatful to my dolls for being still, to my friends for trusting me with pins, parents for trusting me with their childrens skin, to every loyal, new, and future client that's ever put their skin in my hands. After almost 15 years holding the bevel, i still could never imagine my life without it.
