Pretty dwarf hybrid from Glenbrook Bulb Farm. A cross between N. cyclamineus and N. minor. Released in 1989.
Flowering today + the flowering stem of Bellevelia dubia before flowers open+ dark foliage of Ficaria 'Brazen H***y'
Another seedling. Let's hope the markings are stable.
This could be me.
Galanthus seedling from this year's batch. Almost a keeper. For 3 days there was a clear white break between the markings. Sadly, today the white break started turning green.

First lot of flowers from the Galanthus seedling bed. So far one (inset) shows potential.
Called into Bob's Bulbs yesterday. Home to a diverse range of rare and collectable bulbs. Wonderful place, with a great view of Ben Lomond. At the moment lots of crocus and dwarf species daffies in flower + heaps of other bulbs putting on growth. Even if you are not into bulbs, the view is worth a visit.

Two plants putting on some very early growth. Codonopsis lanceolata generally doesn't make an appearance until late August and the dwarf form Delphinium around the same time.
2 Massonias obtained from a plant show.They were named but I will wait until they flower.

Aconitum tsarina. A very pretty hybrid raised by Tonkins Bulbs and Perennials.
I have a soft spot for Tricyrtis. This is my fav. Tricyrtis macrantha ssp. macranthopsis. It comes from Japan. Likes a shaded spot in acid soil
With my grandson at Swinging Gate Winery. (In between Exeter and Beaconsfield). Watching a bloke using a forklift to unload containers of grapes. Magic moment
Pretty colour form of Colchicum speciosum bornmuelleri. From northern Turkey
Interesting foliage and stems of Amorphophallus dunnii. From eastern China. Best in filtered light.
First flower for Clematis addisonii. A short growing climber (1.2 metres) from western Virginia. Late flowering due to being tampled by a possum.
