During the 1960s, Australian surfers, spanning from Torquay in Victoria to Narabeen on NSW's North Shore, favored UGG boots. Following chilly swims, the sheepskin swiftly elevated their body temperatures. The laid-back comfort and straightforward styling synonymous with UGG boots perfectly complemented the easygoing Australian character and lifestyle.
The ‘Lucky Country’ BODY Known as the "lucky country," Australian entrepreneurs shifted their focus to the unassuming Australian Sheepskin UGG Boot.
In 1963, Shane Steadman from North Shore, NSW, started crafting surfboards and eventually expanded into ‘UGH’ boot production under his brand 'Shane Gang.'
Simultaneously, in 1969 in Torquay, Victoria, Alan Green launched his small brand 'Quicksilver,' specializing in wetsuits and a range of ‘UG’ boots. Quicksilver is still acknowledged as ‘Ug Manufacturing’ within industry circles.

Happy Australia Day 🇦🇺
Australian Pilots wore ‘Fug Boots’ during WW1, made out of thick Twin Faced Sheepskin to keep them warm in wind blown, open aircrafts. The ‘Fug’ is often referred to as the origin of the term UGG.
Australian, Sid Cotton invented the ‘Sidcot Flight Suit’ that was worn during WW1 and WW2. Pictured you can see the suit and one of the earliest versions of UGG Boots. Australian Sheepskin is uniquely one of the warmest materials in the world and perfect for footwear.
