Grassy Socks 🧦
I mentioned to a friend this afternoon how I deal with grassy socks. She hadn’t thought of doing this, so I thought I would share here.
Dry brush the socks to get all the grass off. Then you can pick off any little bits of stubborn grass that want to cling on for dear life, with your fingers.
Wetting the socks with all that grass attached is not fun and makes it harder to get off.
Now you can go forth and hate grassy socks a little less.
Oh and yes, HI! I know I’ve not been here for a while.
I post whenever I feel inspired. Thanks for sticking around 😘
What a great way to meal plan for your week ahead! 👏🏼
🌻Happy Monday 🌻
How do you get ready for the week ahead?
We usually meal plan fortnight so this is week 2 for us!
I'm testing out some meal prep boxes this week!
5 boxes ready to go for meal times this week- meal plan on the fridge & meal plan set in the Thermomix to find the recipes with a touch of a button.
**We keep meat in the freezer that's why I've written on the boxes what I need to take out each morning to defrost**
**I've also written the total time so I can make sure dinner is on the table by 5pm for our hungry kids- this will prevent unnecessary snacking and screaming 😆**
💛All up preparing these took me about 20 minutes 💛
These boxes are on sale for half price at woolworths this week & are a good size!———————————————————————————

🎶 Lyric: hai risolto un bel problema
Translation: you’ve solved a big problem
Hopefully this reel does just that for you! And this song makes you as happy as it makes me (sharing some of my Italian heritage with you all).
A close friend shared this tip with me a while ago and I don’t know why I had never done it before.
GAME CHANGER.
Do you already do this?
If not, I bet you will be 🙌🏼
Fitting a quilt inside a cover is up there with the same frustration as folding a fitted sheet (well, before you know the tricks to how).
Happy weekend! 💃🏻
CLEAN UP - cooking and preparing meals.
The before and the after and the after of the after and how we got to the after. Apparently pointing your phone camera to the ground isn’t all you do. 🤷🏻♀️
Ready for the dinner shift now.
Cleaning the kitchen after each use really is helpful to making the chore more manageable. And videos like this make you feel like Mary Poppins 🪄
If I told you that, you can actually fold a fitted sheet without reaching level 100 rage, AND that it could fit in a pillow case, would you believe me?
Re-sharing this old video with a tip on how to fold and store sheet sets in their pillow case.
Makes it:
✔️ compact
✔️ easy to store
✔️ keeps the sets together
And look at that, no hands! 😉 Magical self folding sheets 😂 💁🏻♀️
School is almost out 📚
You may already be finding your child/children bringing home school work.
You might be asking yourself:
😯Where does it all go?!
🥴Do I have to keep it all?!
Here’s how I store school related items. This also extends to drawings / craft that we choose to keep - it can’t all stay
My kids draw a lot (!) so I have to be ruthless 🙅🏻♀️
Firstly, you must allow yourself to be okay with not keeping everything.
You only need to keep what is most sentimental.
Be realistic (or ruthless, if that sounds more realistic 😉).
Using a filing box and suspension files you can store school work, certificates, drawings etc.
Label each suspension file. These particular ones come with an index at the front, so you can get as specific as you’d like to.
Presently, I use just one box for both kids. As they grow this will more than likely become two. I also want to limit the storage space to limit what I keep. This trick works 😉 {even if you have plenty of space in your home, it doesn’t mean you have to fill it}
I also use “My School Yearbook” to store school photos and certificates etc pertaining to that school year. The kids can fill out the cover page for each year. It’s a wonderful keepsake and way to store their schooling memories. Any extra can be stored in the filing box.
When it comes to keeping school books, here’s what I do…
For me, keeping their writing books is a priority. It’s beautiful to see the evolution. So I keep a small storage box of these.
Other school work we look at together and the kids get to proudly share their learnings with us.
If there are spare pages left in the books, the used pages are torn out and the kids use the spare pages to draw / write in over the holidays. The used pages are discarded.
This may sound harsh, but the key to “clutter free” is to not attach yourself to things and to understand that it’s okay to let go.
And this is a practice I’m passing on my to children.
We still have many special things to look back on as the years go on, but we don’t have so much that it’s overwhelming.
I hope you’ve found this helpful.
If you have any tips of your own, please share!
Socks, socks, socks, socks, SOCKSSSSSS! 🧦
How do you ensure your pairs stay together?
Ask yourself this: If a pair go in the wash and the same pair go on the line / in to the dryer - how do odd ones get lost?
Admit it, you just throw them away so you have less washing to fold. Right? 😂It’s okay, I won’t judge.
Or maybe it’s how they’re stored?
Hopefully this is the solution you’ve been searching for.
This is how I fold socks - easy to store and truly doesn’t take much time at all!
I promise you won’t lose any 😉
At the end of the reel I’ve included four different ways to fold socks to highlight how compact and easy the option I use actually is.
And yes, this is groundbreaking information 🤪😂
Happy folding beautiful people.
If you want to have order in your home, it really is as easy as one, two, three.
1. Declutter
2. Organise items “like with like”
3. Maintain the spaces - it’s not a one time fix.
Once you tackle steps one and two, step three is a breeze that will become second nature.
remember these tips:
• Practical over perfect.
• Make items as easily accessible as you can.
• Only keep what you use.
• Make mindful purchases.
And lastly, don’t be afraid to declutter. Let go of the guilt. Make positive changes.
A beautiful feeling awaits you 🌱
A little Sunday soul nourishing refresh.
Organised spaces can lose their function over time as you start to use things differently. So nothing like a little refresh to keep the space practical.
Can you relate to this? 😂
Helpful Tip: Follow a one load per day rule - either wash or fold. Keep the washing pile manageable.
Also, hang as many clothing items as you can. Easier to keep organised and less folding.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
Just because a space is concealed, (like this school zone), doesn’t mean it should to be a mess.
It’s incredible what can be achieved simply with some hooks and a container. The space is tidy, items are easy to access and most importantly the cupboard door can successfully close. 💁🏻♀️
When items are easy to find, it also makes them easy to put away.
Get that dirt of your sh…school stuff!
In the cleaning line up: school bags, cooler bags, homework folders and shoes (hats and jumpers in the normal wash).
Day one / start of the holidays is the best time to tackle this so you’ll know they’ll be ready for when school is back.
This is a routine I follow at the end of every term.
☀️Get them out in the sunshine to dry ☀️

Preach 🙌🏼 Mr Franklin!
Do not underestimate the power an organised home and life has in maximising your time.
Do not underestimate the power an organised home has on the energy field of your home and the beautiful people that live in it.
The process of organising isn’t precious time wasted; it’s allowing you to get back the time to do more things you love with the people you love.
Find it hard to fold and store your linen?
Here’s a little clip to show you how to make folding your linen (yes, even a fitted sheet!) easy. This will ensure you keep the same set of bedding together. Storing the fitted sheet, flat sheet and one pillow case inside of the other pillow case.
Great tip from . 🙌🏼
Happy folding!
LINEN CUPBOARD / LAUNDRY CUPBOARD
I have touched on this area in an earlier post.
Here are some simple tips to help keep this area manageable:
✔️ LESS IS MORE. You do not need to have an excess of spare towels and linen. The less you have, the easier it is.
✔️ CONTAIN. Baskets are a very useful way of doing so. These pictured are from the
✔️ LABEL. This allows other members of the family to know where items live. And you can keep ‘like with like’.
These labels are the metal clip labels from and printed on my
Doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to be practical.
KIDS CUPBOARD | tips on how to manage this space.
Doing a quick cupboard refresh for Master 5 before he starts school so thought it the perfect time to re-share some tips.
1) Basket at the bottom of the cupboard that I place clothes that no longer fit. Time to empty and pass on to friends.
2) Quick check of drawers to ensure all in order / if any further clothing items need to move on (yes drawer one has a utensil tray to store Master 5’s smalls. This was shared as a tip on different ways to use these trays in my stories, a little while back.)
3) EEEEK! Tend to “that” bottom draw. Seems there was one in this room as well 😬
4) Go through clothes being held on to, that were passed down from Master 7.
5) You can keep sentimental clothes items that you do not have the heart to part with - create a space that you can add to. I’ve combined both kids together seeing as they’ve shared so many items being born the same time of year.
When you have systems in place, doing quick refreshes take no time at all. No need to set aside hours to go through kids clothes.
Hope you find this helpful so you can steal back some precious time.
When you know where everything is, it makes everyday tasks easier 💃🏻 .
So then you have more time to go and let your hair down 😉 (by that I mean: in a low pony ready to tackle dinner 🤪).
Simple changes that can simplify your life. Simple.

BEFORE & AFTER - Office / Storage space.
Last makeover for 2020 and it was so much fun!
This area of the home can be extremely overwhelming. It can get out of hand and therefore put off.
All of the client’s wish list for this space was achieved 🌟
Can we get a big hello to the clear floor space 🙌🏼
Practical storage system’s for the entire family and room to use the shared desk space for this beautiful family of five.
Consistent, effective effort leads to success.
Life is B U S Y.
Your journey to a life won’t be reached in a day.
Chip away at it slowly - and fit in and around your day-to-day.
Enjoy the process and the new energy it brings to your space.
One thing you will most definitely notice, is that new organised methods in and around your home help you to manage life’s chaos.
It only takes one space to get you started. ✨
How do you want your 2021 to look and feel?
BEFORE & AFTER
Today’s client pantry makeover.
There were already some great systems in place in this lovely client’s pantry.
Now:
✔️ Zones created
✔️ Easily accessible
✔️ Extra room
You can make any space work.
ZONES - in the wardrobe
I love a good zone / station. Life is easier when things have a place.
On weekends I wash all uniforms and ‘good clothes’ that were worn during the previous week.
The washing is hung on clothes hangers (with the exception of t-shirts, which are hung directly on the clothes line) and once dry are transferred directly to their zone.
There is a WORK UNIFORM zone (pic one) where (you guessed it 😉) all work uniforms are hung, ready for the week.
If you do not have an official uniform for work, you can still have a uniform zone. You can hang all the clothes you rotate for work together and in their sets, to save time.
All other clothes items are also hung in their category- for example all long sleeve button shirts (pic two), camis and tanks (pic three) hung together. The same method is followed for all clothing in the wardrobe.
Each zone is then organised by colour. ✔️
This is of great help for when choosing outfits and also when shopping. You know what clothes you own and you can stop yourself buying yet another white cami 🤦🏻♀️- or is that just me 🙃
BEFORE & AFTER - Linen Cupboard / Storage space
You can make small spaces work.
Practical approach to use space to suit this lovely client and her family’s needs. Items are easily accessible with all like items together.
BEFORE & AFTER - swipe ⏩
An area that stored a lifetime of memories.
I got the ball rolling and my lovely client, over the course of the last few weeks, went through and decided what to cull and what to keep. I’m so proud of her and the progress that was made!
Today we wrapped it up, with just a few more personal touches to be added by the family to make it their own.
There’s a renewed energy in the space. Not to mention, room for more memories. ✨
That hit of dopamine is real. The thrill of something new, of treating yo’self or grabbing a bargain - all real. We all experience it.
But what about that feeling when you see the excess in your home that you do not know where to store or what to do with? The guilt of money wasted. The guilt of having to get rid of stuff. It can feel heavy and the guilt becomes a burden you carry. The clutter grows and becomes overwhelming. We all experience it or have experienced it.
It is how we control it and acknowledge it that can make a difference.
You only have to go in to a shop and see all the Christmas goodness that evokes joy in you. After a year like 2020, it makes total sense too! However, don’t allow that feeling to make you shop excessively or impulsively.
Before you buy, ask yourself these questions:
1. Do I really need this?
2. Does it have a place in the home?
3. Can I store this?
4. Why am I buying this?
Try to sit on decisions and not act on impulse.
You can enjoy guilt-free shopping and you can enjoy the joy it brings. You just need to be mindful. Mindfulness - it applies to so many aspects of our life.
Asking yourself these questions is a great tool to aid a better relationship with shopping and less clutter in your home.
BEFORE & AFTER
Today’s client pantry makeover 🌱
Sometimes you just need an extra pair of hands.
It was a pleasure to makeover this pantry for a lovely lady.
Just a few labels needed and she’s done ✔️
Practical use of the space and utilising products the client already owned, with the addition of some larger baskets. Everything came out and most all went back in 👍🏼
You know those hard to store items, but ones you need easy access to? Like measuring cups and random little containers. Or those random items that you don’t use often but need to keep “for when you need them”.
These items can waste draw space and of course don’t belong on the kitchen bench 😉 .
I find these clear food storage containers a great solution. You can just pull them out and up on to the bench when cooking / baking.
They store neatly in a row, and being clear, you can see exactly what is inside.
What are items that you find hard to store?
De-cluttering your home and being organised is freeing. But to get there, it can feel very overwhelming; especially if this is a chore you don’t enjoy.
Of course it’s what dreams are made of for me, but I completely understand that is not the same for all. And that is okay!
That is why I am here 🌱
Some very important points to remember in this process:
1) PRACTICAL OVER PERFECT. Do not just “do it for the gram”. Your space has to be practical for you and your family. It does not need to look like a perfect square in your IG feed. A home cannot be perfect. It’s your home. But it can be clutter free and it can be organised. And you can enjoy your space.
2) DON’T BREAK THE BANK. You do not have to spend a lot of money in order to get organised. Stick to your budget. It is achievable - I promise.
3) START SMALL. Tackle a small area first. Once you get the feel for it, you’ll have the confidence to keep going. Just chip away, it is a process. It is okay if it takes time.
If it still is just too hard, you can always just get in touch with me 😉
BEFORE and swipe ➡️ for the AFTER
Sometimes the answer is not that you need more space - it is that you need less stuff.
If you have things stored in cupboards that you do not use, it is time to move them on. Donate to family or charity, or sell, whatever sits best with you to commit to.
With this before and after: edited out this space and another drawer so some items could be relocated to a better space for ‘like with like’ system and items no longer in use were donated.
Leaving the space clutter free and all items accessible and visible. Most importantly, all items stored here are used.
Even if you have lots of space, it does not mean that you have to fill it.
Please read that again.
It is a simple yet powerful message. It is this change in mindset that aides your clutter free life.
YOU GOTTA KEEP THEM SEPARATED.... when you COME OUT AND PLAY (The Offspring were low key organisers back in the 90s 😉who knew)
School holidays are here and if you’re planning on going away, then this packing tip is for you! 🙌🏼
Whether it’s for a suitcase for ✈️ travel or inside your camper trailer, caravan or ⛺️- clutter free clothing system is 👌🏼
These travel cubes are the best for a packing system that helps save space in your luggage / camping space and keeps the clothes together. You can pack per family member. Clothes are easily accessible and visible. And the best part - you can keep clean clothes separated and not scattered everywhere!
Makes unpacking so much simpler. Trust me. I’ve been doing this for years, and if you have been also, then you know - it works.
There’s no such thing as Mondayitis when you get to spend a few hours doing your dream job (before going to your real job 😂).
Organising beautiful Intimo lingerie how good is that 😍.
The BEST part was spending time with the beautiful .
An organised person by nature who juggles three businesses (on top of ); all Ray really needed was an extra pair of hands to do what she can’t find the time for. Oh, and of course someone like me that loves to organise, fold and use containers inside of containers 😉😋
Here we organised sale stock in storage containers - each box organised by size, and then arranged in colour with bottoms out of bags and into small containers - using the method. Inventory list up-to-date. Making it all easy to find and accessible ✔️
Thank you for allowing me in to your space. Can’t wait to do more in your office space!
What are the little things that you do, that add up to the big picture of staying on top of things?
Just a few of my favourites:
* Unpacking the car immediately after every trip
* Emptying school bags & lunch boxes as soon you get inside the home
* Make the beds first thing
* A load of washing per day
* Preparing lunch boxes and school bags the night before
* Putting items back in their place immediately after use
* Clean kitchen each night - ready for a brand new day
* Spending ten or so minutes each night preparing for the next day. It can be as simple as preparing your ‘to do’ list.
These are just a few small practises that when you add them up, aide your organisation and create good habits that will make your life easier.
The small things really do make a difference.
I would love to know what your small practises are. Please comment them below and help one another’s day-to-day 🌿💫
Diversify your stationary - let it live out it’s true potential. Forget paperwork; file those chopping boards!
Using vertical files you can store boards, trays, lids etc in your cupboards.
The key to simplifying and decluttering your kitchen is working out ways to make items as accessible as possible.
Picture 2 shows the use of sticky hooks to hang items that can be too bulky for kitchen draws and end up just getting in the way.
BEFORE & AFTER
Drawing & Craft
This is a zone that can get out of hand.
A simple system that:
• children can maintain organised (depending on their age)
• children / you (again dependent on age) can easily access.
Here, two labelled baskets have been used. Most used items are the easiest to access.
Drink bottles and containers can be hard items to store for easy access; depending on where in your kitchen you store them.
In a deep kitchen drawer (like pictured) containers, water bottles / reusable coffee cups and lunch boxes are kept organised in storage containers.
The sectioned containers are handy as you can make the spaces larger or smaller. Keeping lids together and allowing the containers to fit into one another to save space.
You’ll never lose your lid again! 😉
If you store drink bottles in a cupboard - wine bottle holders are a great allowing all bottles to be accessible without a bottle landslide.
