During 2024, Coloplast will globally phase out waste bags in Ostomy Care retail boxes.

Using the planet's resources comes with a responsibility. To ensure we don't produce and ship plastic waste bags around the world which end up not being used, we have decided to remove the waste bags from our Ostomy Care retail boxes.

By doing so, we are not only reducing our emissions by 995 tCO2a, but we can avoid up to 383 t of plastic waste per year.

"In October 2015, my life changed for the worst. I found a lump on my left bottom cheek. I took myself to the hospital, and they told me it was nothing to worry about. But I wasn't having this because I knew something serious was wrong with me. I don't go to the hospital unless I need to.

I ended up seeing a surgeon by the name of Dr. Kirk, and he is a wonderful doctor. When he looked me over, he told me straight away that I needed a surgeon as I had a fistula. Within two weeks, I was on the operating table, and I have had many operations for fistulas now.

The doctors ended up working out that I have Crohn's Disease, the invisible disease that never stops giving. Having an invisible health condition is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life. The toll it takes on your mental health is immense. Two different types of treatment that didn't work took a significant toll on my body and my mental health."

Josipa Triva shows us there is no age barrier to living your best life!

At 105 years of age, Josipa shares her journey to becoming an Ostomate and her life with a stoma.

Josipa showed us how easy it is to remove the backing paper from her Coloplast SenSura Mio bag and how she can see the lines on the back of the paper, even with her poor eyesight. The hole fits snugly over her stoma, and the adhesive is easy to bend so she can place the hole in the bag in the correct position. She also likes the soft cover and prefers the drainable bag. She often has to remind some nurses to close it correctly!

When asked what her secret to a long life is, Josipa puts it down to planning and always putting in 100%, be open to learn new things. Never be idle!
