RMH Neuroscience Foundation Stroke Treatment
The RMH Neuroscience Foundation is tremendously proud to support early career researchers and early stage research. In this video, Professor Bruce Campbell and Dr Vignan Yogendrakumar discuss their groundbreaking work trialling Tenectaplase, a new clot dissolving medicine for stroke. This research has had an impact on clinical practice around the world, and has led to significant benefits and better long-term outcomes for stroke patients and their families. > The Royal Melbourne Hospital > Stroke Foundation Credit: Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): uppbeat.io/t/avbe/night-in-kyoto License code: ITDUQ5TVLT6NCXF1

RMHNF Warren Haynes Fellowship
In 2020, Dr Heidi McAlpine was one of two people awarded the Warren Haynes Fellowship, which allowed her to pursue a groundbreaking research project investigating a type of brain tumour called glioma. Under the supervision of Prof Kate Drummond AM at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and in collaboration with Prof Lucy Palmer's team at The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, they have shown for the first time ever that glioma cells from patients are electrically active. This novel finding helps provide greater understanding of how these tumours grow and opens the door for new treatment targets and clinical trials. Watch our video to learn more! We are incredibly proud of the work that Heidi has led and that our support of research continues to deliver results that will have a significant impact on the lives of our patients.

It's Valentine's Day - a day to celebrate amazing partnerships! We can't think of a better relationship than the one we have with our incredible neuroscience research teams at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Listen to our Chair, Professor Kate Drummond, discuss the impact this partnership has for our patients.
