RECALL: Dynamic Rewards There are many pieces in developing a reliable and strong recall. Creating strong rewarding moments is far more important than practicing neat repetitions that look nice. We do train a sit finish, but it's trained separately and layered in at a later stage in the training process. WE HAVE A VID COMING SOON ON THIS PART OF THE PROCESS. In the early stages, focus on developing a strong desire/attitude in the dog to complete the behaviour and maximise the value of the rewarding moment when the dog gets back to you. You don't need to do it the way I've demonstrated it in this video, however it is essential you find your way of maximising the reward. We posted a video recently demonstrating appropriate leash handling technique. We've had a few concerns posted in the vid feed about the risks of breaking a thumb using this technique. There's a simple physiological reason this is near impossible. The technique we are demonstrating has been used for decades across many disciplines.
