Dear Stick It Grill Family,
As we sit down to write this, emotions are running high. This Friday, we bid farewell to our Stick It Grill Collingwood store. This was a dream that we embarked upon five years ago, just before the world was plunged into the chaos of Covid-19.
Running Stick It Grill has been a journey unlike any other. We, two husbands following a shared dream, faced countless challenges along the way. Despite our personal struggles and whatever was thrown at us along the way, we remained committed to our business, determined to keep the flame alive.
In an economy like this running a hospitality business (with unforgiving overheads) has been a continuous uphill battle. But here’s the thing – despite making the difficult decision to close the doors to our Collingwood store, we don’t see it as a failure. Not at all. In fact, we see it as a monumental success.
Throughout the years, Stick It Grill has achieved remarkable milestones. From surviving a pandemic to catering for AFL teams like the Collingwood and the Melbourne Football Clubs. Also gracing the stages of events like the Ultra Music Festival with the incredible honor of feeding some of the biggest names in the music industry, such as Carl Cox and Armin Van Buren. We’ve left our mark in more ways than one.
But as we bid adieu to Stick It Grill Collingwood, we’re not closing the book. We will be launching a spin-off brand – Cater It – to continue our legacy. With a focus on catering and events, we are excited to see where this new chapter takes us!
To our loyal customers, incredible staff, and everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey, we extend our deepest gratitude - we couldn’t have done it without you!
Stick It Grill may be closing its doors, but our memories and the friendships forged within these walls will last a lifetime.
