Nature’s Sweetness is super sweet if you want it to be… but I like to make things a little less flowery and glittery… with more geometric shapes and lines. Although, I have kept the finely patterned gold paper in this month’s sample workshop kit.

When you know what you want to achieve with your image roll, then you are better able to make decisions about how to organise them. Learning new skills to organise can be fun… but diving in too deep too quickly can just create a different sort of mess. With my private group we pace things out, with the practical and fun balanced against the mundane but “must do’s”… and our little community is there to cheer you on all the way. Have you been wondering what you’ve been missing in my private “IMAGE CONTROL FOR CRAFTERS” FB group that just started?
This is the second little clip that asks you to think about what you want to do with your images. Being aware of your WHY will help you create Albums with more intention. (Click on image to watch it).

MY NEW GROUP FOR LEARNING ABOUT MANAGING YOUR IMAGES IS LIVE.

It doesn't matter what level you are at; we are starting slow, and more importantly practical. There is plenty I could dive into which is boring (and I will have to sprinkle that through too), but the first lesson is just about how to create an album from a bunch of images you are looking at.

Isn't that a practical thing to do as a Scrapbooker (or organiser)?

I’m working away at getting my group ready and the first few clips for you to learn from… Are you ready to join? This group won’t be visible to the public… and you can only join by request here (via my FB business page or Instagram account). Of course you can direct message me on either platform.

If you’re not sure if it’s for you, and you have questions then let me know. I’d be happy to message, chat or email to share more details before you hop right in. It’s FREE.. so what do you have to lose? Certainly a whole lot of organising and control to gain.

Feeling in control and organised is a key component to reducing overwhelm. And this applies to managing your digital images. If you are like me then there is a lot of clutter in your camera role that you “need” but is a huge distraction. I can share many ways to change how you manage your role of images (camera roll) on your smartphone. This has transformed the way I scrapbook, and not only motivates me to do more with my “photos” but is a key tool to its success. Comment below or direct message me if you want to know more. In my part of the world, it’s not only day-1 of Winter on the calendar, it actually feels like it’s here too. The sunny and unusually mild Autumn we have just had probably hasn’t prepared us for this cold. 🥶

So I am giving you permission to get the craft gear out and have a weekend crafting. Let me know below what you are working on.

So you’ve pushed the overwhelm down far enough to consider starting. And then panic sets in. Let’s try and anticipate where you might hit roadblocks so we can head them off and be ready for them. What areas are you more comfortable and what areas do you need support? Do you want guidance on getting a digital images sorted? Do you want some layout design basics? Do you just need a time and place to craft away from what’s going on at home? Do you want support to know you’re on the right track? I am going to address a number of these areas… stay with me to hear how and where.

Now we have finished with the myths, let’s look at the genuine concerns. Taking the plunge and starting can feel overwhelming. I recommend starting with something small, current, and that you’re excited or interested in scrapbooking. Let’s consider this a fun activity to dust off the cobwebs and recalibrate. We may not feel like an expert at the end of the task, but we will gain confidence for sure. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and we aren’t going to try and be too clever with what we create. And we definitely don’t need too many tools and supplies or to organise them all before we start. Let’s just focus on selecting the digital images you need.

“I am not creative”… “I can’t do that!” I have definitely heard this a few times in my 20 years of sharing my passion for Scrapbooking. And whilst it is considered a craft, you don’t have to be naturally “creative”. Methods and approaches can be taught and your confidence can grow as you build on these. There are many sources for ideas and I love that whether it’s a small class or the wider Scrapbooking community, that plenty of sharing happens and we can all learn from each other. Now let’s face some of the BIG-3 myths.
Yes… let’s tackle the big one and have some honesty goodness. Some truth serum. If you really want to do something (putting $ aside).. and you aren’t … it’s not that you don’t have time… it’s that it’s not a priority. We make choices about how we spend our 24hours each day. We may need to give up something (try TV, social media scrolling to start with 😉)… but you CAN (re) start this hobby with minimal time each day or week. I guarantee you. TIME (or lack of it), does not have to be the highest hurdle to jump over. We will get on to the HOW… stick with me on this series to find out.
