The thing I love most about fitness is that it crosses over to every area of your life…

Hard things make you stronger.
You grow from discomfort.
There are no shortcuts.
You can’t buy it.

The 5-year blues.

Once the newbie gains wear off, most people tap out or change directions because progress feels slow. The excitement wears off & you have to lean on the habits, identity & routines you’ve [hopefully] built.

This is who you are.

If you can push through this stage, you will reap the rewards of mastery (or at least confidence).

Yes, it feels hard at times.
Progress might seem slow.

But just like anything new,
Why would you expect anything different?

Lean in & embrace ✨the suck✨

Or repeat the cycle 🔁
You decide.

A few hard truths that have been on my mind lately… which one resonates for you? Lmk 💬👇

Photos from Sharelle Grant's post 17/05/2024

I’ve hesitated to share this, but I believe it’s important. This might trigger or offend some, but honestly, I no longer care. We need to start conversations and raise awareness.

Enough is enough.

Proof that social media is a highlight reel. I promise you are not alone🙏 If you are feeling brave, let me know if anything resonates, or if you would like to share one of your own❤️

5 things that highly confident (and often successful) women NEVER do 💭

1️⃣They never make another woman feel insecure. Ever. They ONLY lift each other up.

2️⃣They don’t gossip or talk behind another person’s back. Too driven to notice but self-aware enough to know that there are always two sides to every story.

3️⃣They have insecurities, but don’t allow them to stop them from going after exactly what they want.

4️⃣They don’t let failure hurt their self-esteem. They take risks and fail often, but own their flaws and gain respect by openly working on them.

5️⃣They say “No” more than “Yes” because they know you can’t pour from an empty cup. It’s tough being a woman, which is why we need to take good care of ourselves, physically and emotionally.

👉Random airport thought 💭 but I truly notice these traits in so many incredible women around me!

What would you add?

Photos from Sharelle Grant's post 22/04/2024

I hope this makes you feel seen🙏 Which one resonates?💛

Photos from Sharelle Grant's post 26/03/2024

SWIPE👉 Did these stats surprise you too?! 😱

Even the most ‘authentic’ creators are filtering what you see…

But no matter who you are, all influence comes with great responsibility.

What you post, say or share matters & we all have an important role to play.

Question what you put in your mind as much as your mouth.

Your mental diet matters 🙏🌱

A message for all women out there!🙏 Let me know if you agree or not? I would love to hear your thoughts! 💬

The universe is showing you this for a reason🪐😌 Which one resonates? Share it with someone that needs to hear the same message 🙏

Sometimes I think about how different the fitness world would be for us women if we were taught best practices and principles from the start...

What if no one ever said, “Do you really need that?” as a girl, or “You look great!” when you lost weight?

What if we weren’t introduced to low-calorie diets or fasting unless we had a weight problem?

What if we used words like strong, empowered or capable instead of bulky, toned, or snatched!?

What if the fitness industry was actually regulated, so the nutrition/training advice shared on here was factual and accurate?

Oh how things would be different…

Would we have lower rates of eating disorders, anxiety around pregnancy, osteoporosis, and higher self-esteem in general?

My guess is yes.

What do you think? 💬

The photos really don’t do justice to the beauty of this place 🥹🏔️

Every girl wants big glutes, but no one wants to eat in the surplus to grow them😤

Eating more calories can be uncomfortable, but you can’t train a malnourished body and expect it to grow 🌱

Building muscle is an expensive process for the body. Why would it want to grow more metabolically active tissue that it has to fuel, when it doesn’t have enough energy already?

It won’t 👎

Key take aways ⤵️🔑

👉 If you really want to build, commit to a 6-12 month improvement phase, cycling between a small surplus and maintenance calories😋📊

👉 Don’t be scared to choose HIGH calorie ‘soul foods’ to reach your targets🍣🍔🍫 Calories are king.

👉 STOP FIXATING ON THE SCALES🙅🏻‍♀️ Seriously, stop it. I’ve gained 15-20kg since I first started lifting. Use photos and measurements to track progress as well.

👉 Work with a coach🤓 Everyone is happy to invest in getting shredded, but no one wants to pay for when the real work is done! I personally think it’s easier to manage a deficit on your own.

Spread the message 🫶

I think I like this little life 💛

13/02/2024

Hi I’m Sharelle👋 I’m a Fitness Coach and I don’t hit my macros 365 days a year…

I fall off track.⠀
I lose motivation. ⠀
I have ‘f**k it’ moments. ⠀

We all do. There’s nothing wrong with you🙏⠀

If you fall off track, it’s not because you’re lazy or lack willpower… It’s because you’re human😌 However, it’s your responsibility to take ownership, forgive yourself & move on.

Practising self-compassion instead of always being hard on myself allows me to move forward💥

Don’t shame yourself to change,
INSPIRE yourself to expect more🌱

Who could you become if you took action & followed through? 💭

I often reflect on where I started and think to myself, “your worst day now, used to be your best day a few years ago”. ⠀

Nurturing my own progress & reflecting often has allowed me to be consistent for years and years, which is far more important than nailing my diet for a week.

Is this something that you need help with?

Asking for help is the hardest part.

You’re not lazy or unmotivated,
you just haven’t been taught how to:

Fail forward.
Fail often.

✅💯

Why not just ask for exactly what you want in life? Seriously, what’s the worst that could happen?

Brainstorm the worst-case scenario if you: Quit your job, ask for a promotion, start the business, post that photo, launch a podcast, completely change your career, eliminate toxic relationships, say yes or NO more often??

Is the worst-case scenario really that bad?
Or are you over-catastrophising again?

For a long time, I believed that success only came to those who deserved it…

I thought that if I just worked hard enough, good things would come my way.

But the truth is that no matter how hard you work, you also have to be willing to ask for what you need, and push back when you don’t get it.

You’re often just one uncomfortable conversation away from getting exactly what you want.

If the last few years have taught me anything, it’s that life is short and with change comes fresh opportunities.

Ask for what you want - It really is that simple 💫

In a society that tells women to…

 Play small
Don’t brag
Stay at home
Keep it to yourself

I’m here to tell you that it’s more than ok to celebrate your successes,

Publicly & proudly 👊

You worked hard for this.
It’s not bragging, it’s owning.

You feelin’ me?

Not everyone will agree with this, but there’s a BIG difference between an expense and an investment. We pay for what we prioritise…💅

⁣It’s common behaviour to ‘cover up’ when you’re not feeling overly confident in your skin, or have gained a little bit of body weight… ⠀

Now, I’m all for feeling comfortable in what you’re wearing, but I believe covering up and feeding this insecurity sends our subconscious the wrong message. ⠀

I have a rule. Never change my natural behaviour of what I wear based on my body fat percentage. ⠀

Get comfortable seeing your body change throughout every season by avoiding this behaviour🙏

04/06/2023

⁣I’m triggered HARD when I hear women with negative self-talk😥⠀

I am often taken aback by how frequently and casually women put themselves down.⠀
⠀⠀
Not only is it detrimental to our self-esteem, but your role modelling that behaviour to others.⠀

We also need to acknowledge these comments in our friends & family instead of dismissing them. If they show up, bring it to their awareness in real-time and get curious.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
We all have an inner critic, but taste your words before you spit them out🙏⠀

YOU are always listening. Words matter🤫

29/05/2023

⁣Quick reminder… Being able to move your body, lift weights, run or even walk is a privilege NOT a punishment! ⠀

Working as a Nurse in palliative care, orthopaedics, rehab, and maternity gave me all the perspective I’ll ever need to never complain about moving my body. ⠀

As extreme as it sounds, there are countless patients in hospitals, rehab centres, aged care facilities and even their own homes that can’t attend to their own basic needs independently… and we complain about not feeling ‘motivated’. ⠀

If you get to go to the gym today, ride your bike to work, or go for a walk, consider yourself lucky for the opportunity to take care of yourself and your health.⠀

You don’t “have to” do anything, you “get to”.⠀

♥️🙏

⁣Girl Gang 🤝 Your Self-esteem⠀

I’m convinced that surrounding yourself with confident women that act as cheerleaders, big sisters and confidence builders is the ultimate life hack that we all need to truly thrive. ⠀

NO competition, NO jealousy, NO watching in the background, and NO bitchiness!! Just hype energy, support and loyal connections💕⠀

Low self-esteem is a MAJOR issue for many women… ⠀

Which is why I bloody LOVE to see others confidently taking gym selfies, recording workouts with their tripods, showing off their progress, and even admiring their gains!💪⠀

Ladies, it's okay to flex in the mirror and feel proud of your hard work😉 ⠀

It's important to remember that confidence is not the same as arrogance, and we should move past the outdated "Mean Girls Era" mentality 🙏⠀

If your friends or network isn't screaming “Queen” from across the gym floor, or atleast supporting your fitness journey, it's time to find a new network that elevates you. ⠀

In a world that tells you to ‘take it easy’, framing your mindset in the right way is important to get the work done. ⠀

While self-compassion is crucial, we must also recognise our excuses and take responsibility to improve our situation. Acknowledging these difficult truths can be the key to starting and maintaining consistent effort, leading to momentum in achieving our goals. ⠀

Your personal fitness journey is going to be a whole lot easier once you frame your mindset in these 4 ways... (swipe) ➡
