In Episode 10 of the Unearthing Art Podcast, Bec and I talk about ditching productivity rules for true creative flow.
Finding creative flow is unique for each of us as life is complicated, full of different things outside of the art practice; family life, work, and life’s distractions (😷). In my own experience I've realized that life can easily slip away and studio time can escape pretty quickly.
For me, it's finding a way to balance my life and to prioritize it in a way that allows me to sneak studio time that could be an hour, or 10 minutes just to look at something or blocking bigger chunks of time. To hear more about this listen to Episode 10.
📣 ☞ 📣 In fact CREATIVE FLOW is such an important topic for us to thrive as artists, are diving into the depths with you in the INSPIRATION ROOM tomorrow / FRIDAY 11am Melbourne time.
We’ll be sharing specific challenges we face and diving deeper in what that can look like as you customize your creative flow. Come share with us and let's dive into what creative flow really looks like for you.

We have a delightful INSPIRATION ROOM Member Spotlight for you highlighting Melbourne based abstract artist – ELEESA HOWARD. Eleesa lives in the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.
She’s been a visual explorer most of her life with previous interests in photography, visual merchandising, and other creative passions. Eleesa’s spent the last few years answering her calling to painting – and she’s recently launched a beautiful collection and exhibition.
She approaches her work in an intuitive way, using painting as a way of letting go, of not over-analysing life and instead focusing on the positive and joyous in every day. She does this through layers of collage, expressive brush strokes and instinctive oil pastel markings to create rich colour and texture in my abstraction. She weaves a personal touch of found objects, collected memories, imperfect shapes and reinvigorates materials that might often go unnoticed. This blend in her work creates a sense of touch and a connection between her and the viewer.
Her works are reflective, exploring relationships, emotions, and connections to her family, community, and environment. A connection that we can all really appreciate right now!
To see more of Eleesa’s artwork visit on Instagram or her website http://EleesaHoward.com.au.For those in the Inspiration Room, we have a special interview with Eleesa under Member Spotlights. You’ll love it!
Special thanks to Eleesa for sharing her studio with us in the INSPIRATION ROOM! We love getting to know you and having you in our community. Check out our stories for more details on Eleesa's process.

We have a delightful INSPIRATION ROOM Member Spotlight – highlighting Melbourne based abstract artist – VINETTE THOMPSON.
Vinette was born in Paarl, South Africa – about 50 kms from Cape Town in the wine district and came to Australia in 1996. She has a background in Textile and Surface Design and fondly remembers the old school days of hand drawn painted designs before computers existed in art studios.
She’s been carving out time for painting over the more recent years and is inspired by other cultures, rituals, and how they used their art to tell stories. She loves African textiles, Asafo flags - Ghana / proverbs, applique, woven rugs, colour, shapes & displaced memory, and nostalgic experiences. Her recent work explored connections to memories of frequent vases of flowers on her mother’s dining room table.
Vinette has a dedicated studio space that is an old converted garage in the backyard where she plays with paint in a daily ritual. It sometimes starts with a couple of studies, even if it’s just a quick collage, just getting some quick ideas down, experimenting with different tools, brushes & colours.
To see more of Vinette’s artwork visit on Instagram or www.VinetteThompsonArt.com Stay tuned to our stories and Vinette's stories over the weekend where she shares more from her studio.
For those in the Inspiration Room, we have a special interview with Vinette under Member Spotlights.
