Blissful biskota
Home made Greek baked goods
Amigthalota (almond biscuits) these are just devine and also gluten free which is a big bonus. Photos don’t do them justice. Was making these by the tray the last couple of months. #
Nutty Pastelli. A base of sesame seeds then a variety of other nuts. ‘Healthy’ alternative 😉
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Been a very busy festive season. Time to catch up on the socials. Freshly baked paximathia (biscotti), always a staple in our house.
These almond biscuits (amigthalota) are very very popular and I can’t blame people for loving them. They are crisp around the edges and fluffy in the middle, meringue based and gluten free. If you haven’t tried them then your honestly missing out.
Fresh batch of petite fours dipped in chocolate sprinkles and pistachios. Half filled with strawberry jam and half with raspberry jam. Pretty to look at and so tasty.
Double baked biscotti (paximathia) these are truely so yummy. If you’re a lover of aniseed these are a winner. Crunchy, tasty and when dipped into a hot drink just divine.
Pastelli (sesame bars) freshly made. Honey, sesame seeds and assorted nuts. ‘Healthy’ little bars. That’s what I tell myself as I’m eating them.
Freshly baked petite fours ready for the weekend. Simple but very yummy butter biscuits, filled with jam and dipped in chocolate. What’s not to love?
These paximathia (double baked biscotti)were freshly backed yesterday and ready to be packed. They are honestly so just beautiful, perfect accompaniment with your hot drink of choice.
FINALLY!!!! We are ready to go!! So excited to inform everyone that we are officially open to trade. Can’t explain how exciting it is. Going to give it a shot and see how it goes, no expectations at all. If it goes well, great! If not then that’s ok too at least I gave it a shot. Offering beautiful and most importantly, yummy Greek sweets and biscuits. All home made and made to order using real ingredients. For me, yes, we eat with our eyes first and I believe everything looks yummy but most importantly it’s about the taste and I guarantee that the taste is there. I wouldn’t put my name behind something I truly didn’t believe in. Please give us a try, I honestly believe you won’t be disappointed. Initially I’m doing assorted boxes to introduce but I’m more than happy to take specific orders so please let me know what you would like. I’ve got sample, small and medium boxes to offer at the moment with large boxes to come. As an introductory offer I’m giving a 15% discount until the 15th November. Ill be offering free local delivery in Mornington or a small fee for close outer suburbs. Happy for you to also pick up. I’ll post prices with this post. Please message to order and thank you all for your time. If you could all share around also that would mean a lot.
Thank you.
Baklava bites. All I can say is OMG! They are true mouth fulls of pure bliss. Filo pastry, a mixture of nuts, spices and a beautiful honey-lemon syrup. I can’t get enough of these. These will be a constant on the menu. I seriously hope who ever has these, enjoys them as much as me and my family.
These paximathia are to die for! If only I could tell you through these pics how good they actually taste and not only because I’ve made them. If anybody had made them I would say the exact same thing. Double baked Greek biscotti, that have a hint of aniseed and are absolutely perfect to dunk into a hot cup of whatever you prefer. This is my Mums recipe and she is no longer with us and I’m so happy I get to bake these regularly as it reminds me of her and how the house used to smell growing up.
These petit fours truly are so good. Been trying to perfect the way they look but the truth is that I’m knit picking. Every time I make these I alter something to make them look prettier but then realise it makes no difference because the taste is there and that’s all that matters. My other Aunty is the queen at making these and I guess I’m trying to follow in her foot steps. She also has been guiding me along the way with lots of little tips. So thank you . These are my kids favourites and don’t last at home.
Busy week of baking so far. Loving every minute and can’t wait to share with you all. The house is smelling amazing and feeling good, which is the main things these days. Shout out to my Aunty for her idea with this recipe. The last batch I made of these Pastelli (sesame bars) looked very appealing but this batch here tastes AMAZING. Definitely a winner. Thanks
Freshly made kourabiethes (Greek shortbread almond cookies) traditionally a Christmas cookie as the biscuits represent the mountains covered in snow at Christmas time in Greece. That’s what my Yiayia (grandma) has told me. They are simply beautiful and buttery with roasted almonds throughout.
Can’t stop making these amigthalota (almond biscuits) These seem to be a favourite. To be honest they are one of my favourites too. I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t like them AND they are gluten free. It’s a win win.
Freshly made baklava. A crowd favourite. Came out fantastic. Can’t wait to officially trade.
These little gems are a couple of mouthfuls of pure bliss. Biscuit, jam, chocolate and nuts. How an you go wrong? Made a fresh batch today. Getting closer and closer to officially trading.
Freshly made Pastelli (sesame bars, but not just sesame) tweaked the recipe and they are a winner. I’ve eaten half the slab myself.
Freshly made paksimathia (sweet Greek double baked biscuits) perfect with a coffee on a day like today. Or any day really.
My baking journey begins. I’ve jumped on the ‘grazing’ bandwagon. My name is Maria and I’m a local Mum in Mornington. As we are all aware Covid has cost us all a lot, emotional, mentally, financially, the list is endless. All of us have been effected in one way or another. While I’ve been at home homeschooling I have been busy in the kitchen. That was my mental outlet and I came to discover that it made my days pass and it brought some type of happiness to me, my family and my friends. So I thought to myself, why can’t I bring some of that happiness to as many people as I can? So here I am! I’ve been baking, testing, trying and my family have been the guinea pigs. They haven’t complained at all though 😊
I’ve been brought up in a Greek family with Greek food and sweets around me all the time and to me it was the norm so now that’s what I’ll be bringing to all of you. Yummy home baked Greek biscuits/cookies and sweets made with love. I’ve posted a few pics of some of the things I’ve baked this week. All of which will be on the menu. I’m just finalising things at the moment and I’ll be ready to go very soon. So please watch this space for more info to come.
Thank you for taking to time to read this and please, please share this around. xx
