Let’s talk lips.
Did you know that lip filler can be used purely to hydrate the lips?
Lip filler or peri oral filler can also be used to soften and erase barcode lines or smokers lines around the mouth without actually touching your lips.
This is a lovely treatment for people who may have lost volume, collagen and elasticity around the mouth due to repetitive movement of the orbicularis oris (mouth muscle)
Lip filler is not just for patients wanting to add volume.

Dermal filler is made up of Hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan found throughout the body’s connective tissue.

Let’s talk dynamic vs static lines around the eyes… or crows feet.
These are the beautiful lines we get from repeated creasing of the skin around the lateral eye as we make facial expressions involving the orbicularis oculi.
This muscle is essentially a circle or sphincter and it’s action is contracting.
Dynamic lines are the creases in the skin seen on smiling. Static lines are the creases that remain in the skin when we are not smiling or at rest.
The difference between static and dynamic lines is

over time the dynamic lines can become quite deep and start to creep down the cheeks.
This is a common concern of clients and one of the first areas people like to start treating.
If is possible to soften and prevent these lines from deepening with anti wrinkle injections.

My approach around this dynamic area is always less is more.
A little movement is always very beautiful around the eyes and creates the sparkle when we smile.
Going too high in dosage around the eyes can result in a unnatural aesthetic with some unfortunate shelving of the cheek.

Other treatments to complement this area are bio stimulators, radio frequency skin treatments and always good skincare.

WHILST SOME SMALL CHANGES WILL BE EFFECTIVE AS OF 1ST JULY, FOR INJECTABLES, THE GP REFERRAL REQUIREMENTS IS FOR COSMETIC SURGERY. AS OF 1ST JULY ANYONE CONSIDERING PLASTIC SURGERY WILL NEED TO OBTAIN A REFERRAL FROM A GP

This was the second time this client had walked into a injectables space, feeling quite nervous as expected.
Even for seasoned client it can be a little uncomfortable arriving for your appointment and I always like to take a moment to acknowledge this. I still remember how I felt sitting on the other end of a needle and putting my faith in the person holding it.
I like to give you lots of information and options in our consult prior to procedure. Injectables are not a beauty procedure, but a medical one where informed consent including all risks are disclosed.
At the end of the day this is your face and you need to feel comfortable and safe you’re in good hands.

This beauty came to the consultation with an idea of what she was wanting but also being open to suggestions from myself. We discussed a few options looking at various ways to approach treatment which allows the client and I to collaborate and decide on the best approach within budget and comfort levels.
This is always imperative in my consultations as I want my client to make an well informed decision over treatment. After all it’s a personal decision and I can only provide all the options and information. The ultimate decision lies with you.
We have so many different modalities we can turn too, many giving similar results, however it’s important to understand the downtime, financial investment and all potential risks and complications involved.
On this beauty we did a combination of treatments, focusing on the chin, lips & anti wrinkle. These images were taking directly before and after treatment.
