“Even though I had a love for Mustangs growing up (and in particular, the 1965 model), owning one always seemed like it was out of reach, which is why when I was finally able to buy my first car in 1998, I settled for what I thought was the next closest thing: an 1976 RA23 Celica… Needless to say: it’s a good thing I was the son of a panel be**er.

With a bit of temporary TLC, she never failed getting me from Mudgee to Dubbo for TAFE during my apprenticeship 🙌

Fast forward 24 years and she’s Build #1 for Leven Restorations.

With multiple builds already happening, Leven Restorations is on the hunt for an experienced vehicle restoration fabricator who has at least five years of experience in automotive fabrication.

As a Leven Restorations Fabricator, you will be part of a driven, highly skilled and results-focused team that takes pride in every aspect of bringing a classic vehicle back to life.

The role requires a strong work ethic, flexible attitude, self-motivation and strong commitment to work health and safety.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

For starters, we want someone who is VERY into classic + custom cars.

We also want someone who shares our company values. This means we will be spending time in the application phase to see if you demonstrate committed and hungry behaviour, willingness to change, respect for yourself and others, open and honest communication, and the ability to be humble when necessary.

THE IDEAL EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE FABRICATOR CANDIDATE HAS:
- 5+ years’ experience working in automotive fabrication
- Proficient with MIG and TIG
- Ability to design and present a solution
- Ability to interpret and work from drawings and follow verbal instructions
- Experience working with aluminium, mild and stainless steel
- Previous experience in custom cars and restoration. (While an advantage, it’s not mandatory if you have extensive experience in smash repairs.)
- A current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or the right to work in Australia

Meet Dave!

Dave is of our newest LSR employee’s! He has only been with us a short time, but he has definitely made his impact on the team and made lots of progress with our restoration projects!

Fun facts about Dave:
▪️He has been in the trade and repairing cars for 42 years, he knows his stuff!
▪️His favourite hobby is restoring cars
▪️The highlight of his career would be working for a Mercedes only repair shop. He loved working with luxury cars and repairing them back to their original state, he worked here for a total of 7 years!
▪️He has only been living in Mudgee for 5 years, but loves it here!
▪️His favourite restoration project is working on Mustangs
▪️He enjoys working at LSR because he gets a good balance of working on restoration projects for LSR Restorations and panel repairs for Leven Smash Repairs

XY UPDATE - making up the rust repairs sections for the inner and outer L\H quarter panel. Panels have been sealed in PPG DP 616 expoxy primer.

RA23 CELICA. ⭐️

This vehicle has some history behind it. Our LSR Restoration owner Simon has had this vehicle tucked away for years! Fun fact, this was one of his very first cars! The body work and panel gaps were carried out, then the vehicle was sealed in PPG Deltron 407 to further inspect the body.

The Celica is currently having engine and suspension work completed.

Introducing one of our latest projects. This TA27 GTV CELICA has been imported all the way from Japan and is a rare find! 🚙

Chris, our Powder Coating and Leven Smash Repairs Painter owns this Ford F100, or better known as “Mamoth”. This F100 over the years has won numerous awards ranging from “Best Paint” to “Best Pick Up”. Chris is extremely passionate about his ute and he has even gone as far as matching his kids car seat covers to suit! Keep an eye out for this vehicle around town, you also might have seen it at entering events.

65 FASTBACK MUSTANG’

Shoutout to the legends at Redi Strip Blacktown. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

In the REDI-STRIP cleaning process, they use a unique patented, and environmentally friendly alkaline chemical cleaning compound SHS. This is a completely non-destructive, immersion metal cleaning process for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

This process not only strips paints, powder coatings, grease and grime, but also removes rust and scale while also loosening and derusting threads.

What is unique about the REDI STRIP process is, it will not alter or remove any of the parent metal.

The team has been busy removing the turret, gapping up some panels and strengthening the floor pan to suit what’s going to be under the hood. ⚒️

We have one keen little LSR member who is super excited to watch the progress of the cars.

1965 Fastback Mustang is well underway, keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Dacoda Endacott spent the holidays preparing and painting this 1936 Ford Coupe.

This hotrod belongs to a good family friend of Dacoda’s, so this project was extra special for her. 🖤

The vehicle is now back with the owner and is fully underway to be back on the road.

We can’t wait to see the finished project. 🙌🏼
