On-water and on-dock training day on ‘Joy’.
Doc and ‘Bob’ was retrieved with no dramas under the expert guidance of Wendy, Making Waves On-water Operations manager and volunteer crew.
All in a days work…variety plus!
A brand new glorious day.
Happy Sunday.
Can’t agree more! Who is with me?
Social tile thanks to Mindfood magazine, one of my favourite magazines.
This is what I do on my weekends. Sail!
Funny, the business name may give it away.
With Belinda and Zdenka, we are at the Ladies of the Sea Regatta at the beautiful Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. Its a coaching regatta with on and off water coaching by some highly experienced sailors.
We are sailing on a loaned Ynling, a very small yacht where you come off hours later drenched but grinning from the achievement of having finished a race. Yesterday it was 3 in fact with wind gusts of 18-20 knots.
We navigated lots of chop, ferries, big keelboats, little boats as the laser fleet started racing near our start line, and at one stage we had water completely drench us. And apparently that is nothing for Sydney Harbour as not all clubs are racing on this long weekend.
We have also learnt lots about trim, racing rules, boat handling and tactics. With consistent gusts of over 20 knots today, racing has been cancelled and it’s back to the training room where Nic Douglas., SailorGirl (Tasar champ) and others are going through different scenarios on the race track.
Tonight we have the presentation night and celebration of a great weekend of sailing and racing.
With thanks to Adam for lending his boat and Belinda and Zdenka my trusty crew for a great weekend.
Im hanging up my one design fleet racing boots! Its hard work and my aches and pains are very real today so I’m kind of pleased that racing was cancelled today
Grateful for all these wonderful experiences and friendships formed.
Who is your furry friend keeping you away from work?
This ‘thing’ keeps us entertained by bringing in little lizards and then chopping them in half on my rug. The wriggly bit then finds its way to under our couch. I then have to battle Mr Moby to quickly pick up this squeamish wriggly half lizard and rush to the doorway for disposal!
Butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth though now. 😊
This is a great documentary currently showing on Netflix.
The results of analysing several blue zones and their residents worldwide showed up four indicators of why their people have possibly lived to see their hundredth plus year. And, one of them is the importance of Connection.
It is something in the Virtual assistant/business space we talk of a lot and place great emphasis on.
➝ Find the right tribe - working virtually, coffee catch ups and networking meetings fuel the social bucket. It is essential.
➝ Place Family first - think this is one of the main reasons most of us are in business and includes extended family.
➝ Partnerships - invest in partnerships. Look after one another.
The 4 series is about 30 minutes each.
Check it out. It is very thought provoking.

A magic morning ❤️
A small but exciting addition to ‘Little Miss’, a wind vane. A little more accurate than a guess for wind direction.
Any small changes you can make to your business?
A VA could help lighten the load a little. Just a thought if you are bogged down with ‘stuff’!
Well, I did it!
Got up early before sunrise for a yoga class and coffee at Bar Beach.
And, you know what? It wasn’t that bad. I feel great. Just needed discipline and commitment. The view wasn’t bad either.
Sound familiar? Time to perhaps think of other habits I can change or instil in life to make the most of my time here on planet earth…

Just for something different but still water related, it is World Tuna day today.
Do you like tuna? I do!
It is rich in Omega-3 and lots of other minerals, proteins, and vitamin B12 all apparently good for you, however tunas are in decline. The fish is too popular!
UN World Tuna day was born in 2016 to raise awareness of stock decline and the importance of conservation management.

I was back at the Newcastle Cruising yacht club today…surprise surprise, not racing but participating in man over board training.
Making Waves Foundation conducts the training on a regular basis. We have protocols in place as safe guards to prevent a MOB that we ask our guests to adhere to, like one hand on the boat at all times , high stauntions and netting and encourage everyone to sit.
As every boat is different along with procedures for conducting an MOB, this training is invaluable.
In the unlikely event we do have a MOB, guests will be well cared for.
