What is self care?

For me self care is in the small things. This lime and coconut candle was a Mother’s Day present from my beautiful daughter.

Ive been waiting for when I could light it and enjoy it.
Today is prefect. It’s rainy and cold and I have a free evening. There’s something hypnotic and primal about a flame flickering.

Organisation = reduced mental load.

I get asked all the time how I manage to fit so much in to my life. I work, I’m studying and I’m a single mum. The answer is I am super organised.

In my house everything has a home where it belongs. I don’t need to waste time looking for stuff because I know exactly where it is.

My food is planned and today I meal prepped for the working week ahead and it’s all ready.

I have stationary boxes with cards, ribbons and wrapping paper so I’m never caught out.

I have a back ups of all toiletries so I can replace then add to the shopping list.

I keep a diary which I plan in all of my appointments. I also have set days for all things beauty and I book those set times for the whole year.

Winter “no make up or filter” skin.

This is my 49 year old face in winter with absolutely no make up or filters. Yes South East Queensland is not as cold and definitely no snow it can still reek havoc.

10 year ago this little, crazy, violent, funny and spunky Chihuahua was born. She came to us at the perfect time and Evelyn chose her name. Princess 👑🐶💕

She is the longest loving relationship I’ve had except for being Evelyn’s mumma. She is my shadow, my guard dog and my heat pack.
