Cherry Ripe with Vita Sol Infinity Wholefood Powder

This vegan, gluten-free cherry ripe recipe is sure to get those taste buds tingling. Share this classic favourite as a dessert or afternoon delight.

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Base:
Cashews 2 cups
Desiccated coconut 1 cup
Maple syrup ½ cup
Vanilla bean paste 1 tsp

𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠:
Infinity Wholefood Powder 2 tbsp
Desiccated coconut 1½ cups
Cherries (deseeded) 1½ cups
Coconut oil (solid) ¹⁄³ cup
Liquid stevia or maple syrup, to taste

𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩:
Cacao butter 1 cup
Cacao powder ¾ cup
Liquid stevia or maple syrup, to taste
Sea-salt (optional) ½ tsp

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝:
𝟏. In a food processor add the cashews, coconut and vanilla. Blitz together.

𝟐. Slowly add your sweetener of choice with the motor running, until a crumbly dough comes together. Depending on the oiliness of your cashews, you may need a little more or less.

𝟑. Tightly press the cashew base into a lined brownie pan with the back of a spoon and refrigerate.

𝟒. In the same food processor add the Infinity Wholefood Powder, coconut and blitz, then add the cherries and finally the coconut oil and sweetener to taste.

𝟓. Press the filling on top of the base and return to the fridge.

𝟔. To make the chocolate top, heat the cacao butter until liquid over a medium heat, then mix through the cacao powder, salt (if using) and sweetener to taste.

𝟕. Pour the chocolate mixture over the top of the cherry filling and allow to set in the refrigerator for 4 hours, or overnight. 8 Slice and serve!

TIP Allow the slice to come to room temperature for 15 minutes for the best flavour.

Acne products work in different ways, depending on their active ingredients. Some work by killing acne-causing bacteria. Others remove excess oil from the skin or speed the growth of new skin cells and the removal of dead skin cells. Some acne products try to do all these things.

Here are common active ingredients found in acne products used on the skin and how they work.

𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨𝐲𝐥 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐝𝐞: This ingredient kills bacteria that cause acne, helps remove excess oil from the skin and removes dead skin cells, which can clog pores. Benzoyl peroxide products that you can buy without a prescription are available in strengths from 2.5% to 10%. Studies show that lower strength products are as effective as higher strength preparations. Consider starting with a lower strength (2.5%) water-based product to lower the risk of side effects.

𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞: A retinoid that helps unclog pores and prevent new breakouts. Adapalene gel (Differin) is available without a prescription at a strength of 0.1%.

𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐝: This ingredient may help unclog pores and prevent new breakouts. Salicylic acid products that you can buy without a prescription are available in strengths from 0.5% to 2% as both leave-on and wash-off products.

𝐀𝐳𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐝: This ingredient helps prevent pores from becoming plugged and is mildly antibacterial. Nonprescription azelaic acid products are available in 10% strength. Azelaic acid also helps correct dark spots that can linger after acne clears (postinflammatory hyperpigmentation).

𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐬: Alpha hydroxy acids are synthetic versions of acids derived from sugar-containing fruits, sugar cane or milk. Two types of alpha hydroxy acids that are used in nonprescription acne products are glycolic acid and lactic acid. They treat acne by removing dead skin cells and calming inflamed skin. Alpha hydroxy acids also spur the growth of new, smoother skin. This helps improve the look of acne scars and pores.

1 whole apple
1 whole small carrot
3/4 cup whole oats
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup milk (of your choice)
2 teaspoons of Flexibility Wholefood Powder

𝐓𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞:
1/2 cup full fat Greek yoghurt
2 tablespoon almonds, chopped roughly

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝:
𝟏. Finely grate the apple and carrot.
𝟐. Place in a bowl then add oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, Flexibility Wholefood Powder and milk of your choice.
𝟑. Mix well to combine.
𝟒. Divide between two jars or serving bowls, cover and store in the fridge overnight.
𝟓.. To serve, top with yoghurt and chopped almonds.
