LARGEST MURAL OF ITS KIND IN AUSTRALIA

First Nations mural adorning the facade of The Hunter Building, also known as The Holiday Inn. Set to become the largest mural of its kind in Australia, this magnificent artwork is a testament to the deep Indigenous heritage that has greatly influenced and shaped the region. The ambitious project is estimated to cost around $90,000.

1. The mural’s design centers around the Werribee River, symbolizing unity and commonality for all residents of Wyndham.
Flanking the river, the artwork vividly portrays the ancestral lands of the Bunurong and Wathaurong peoples.

2. These Indigenous lands emphasize the enduring relationship between the First Nations people and their territory.

3. The mural also features the representation of Bunjil, a creator deity and cultural hero, often depicted as a wedge-tailed eagle in Aboriginal mythology.

4. Renowned artist Tom Day—known for exceptional work on other prominent projects—has harnessed his talent to create this captivating mural.

Puffing Billy is a famous historic steam railway located in Victoria, Australia. Here is some information about it:

Puffing Billy was originally built in the early 1900s to serve as part of the Victorian Railways' narrow-gauge network. The railway opened in 1900 and operated as a crucial transport link for the region until its closure in 1954.

After its closure, a group of dedicated volunteers fought to save the railway from being dismantled. Their efforts paid off, and in 1962, Puffing Billy reopened as a heritage steam railway, largely run by volunteers.

The railway covers a scenic 24-kilometer (15-mile) route through the Dandenong Ranges, beginning at Belgrave and ending at Gembrook. Along the way, the train passes through lush fern gullies, bridges, and picturesque countryside.

Puffing Billy operates with a fleet of operational steam locomotives, which are over 100 years old. These include locomotives such as Climax, 12A, and NA where NA stands for narrow gauge. These majestic steam engines have been meticulously restored and are maintained by the dedicated volunteers.

One of the unique features of Puffing Billy is its open-sided carriages, allowing passengers to enjoy the fresh air and stunning views during the ride. This adds to the charm and excitement of the journey, especially for train enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Puffing Billy offers various experiences, including family-friendly rides, special events, and themed excursions. It is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists, providing an opportunity to step back in time and experience the golden age of steam railways.

Puffing Billy's historic steam railway provides a unique and nostalgic journey through the picturesque Dandenong Ranges. It is a testament to the dedication and love of those who worked to preserve this important piece of Victoria's railway history.

[22.12.2023] Photo Walk Adventure:

Arib Mahmud and I embarked on a delightful photo walk through the bustling streets of Melbourne. Our journey was filled with captivating sights, delicious food, and unforgettable moments. Let me take you through our adventure!

We started our day by hopping into the car and making our way towards Melbourne CBD. Along the way, we couldn't resist the allure of an old church, adorned with history and charm. We paused to capture its timeless beauty through our lenses, appreciating the architectural marvel before us. 📷

As we continued our drive, the vibrant street art that Melbourne is renowned for caught our attention. We couldn't resist stopping at various locations to capture the creativity and expression displayed on the city's walls. Each piece told a unique story, adding a splash of color to our photo collection. 🎨

Our stomachs began to rumble, and we decided to satisfy our appetites in the suburb of Balaclava. Arib's taste buds were in for a treat as he indulged in the famous Fish and Chips from Hunky Dory. The crispy golden batter and tender fish were a match made in culinary heaven. To top it off, we couldn't resist trying some refreshing Bubble Tea from a local spot called Bubble Tea Story. It was the perfect combination of flavors to fuel us for the rest of our adventure. 🍽

Balaclava turned out to be a hidden gem, with its streets adorned with captivating street art at every turn. We strolled through the neighborhood, capturing the vibrant murals that brought life to the walls. Each artwork seemed to have a story to tell, and we were fortunate to witness this artistic wonderland. 🎨

Our journey continued as we made our way towards the CBD, with our sights set on the iconic Webb Bridge at Docklands. Along the way, we couldn't resist a quick stop in St. Kilda, where we were greeted by the exhilarating sight of people para sailing against the backdrop of the sparkling ocean. We couldn't resist capturing the joy and thrill on their faces as they soared through the sky. 🌊

Finally, we reached our destination, Webb Bridge. The unique design of the bridge, with its intricate web-like structure, provided the perfect backdrop for our photographs. We took our time, walking across the bridge and immersing ourselves in the breathtaking views of the city skyline and the tranquil waters below. It was a moment of serenity amidst the urban hustle and bustle.
As the sun began to set, we made our way back, cherishing the memories we had created throughout the day. Our photo walk had allowed us to capture the essence of Melbourne's vibrant streets, its artistic spirit, and the joy of exploration. It was a day filled with laughter, discovery, and a deep appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. 🌇

Until our next adventure.

Freshest Fish and Crispiest Chips at Wild Catch Fish & Chips in Lakes Entrance!

Rating: 5/5 stars

We recently visited Lakes Entrance in Victoria, and one of the highlights of my trip was trying the fish and chips at Wild Catch Fish & Chips located on the Esplanade. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The fish was incredibly fresh, and the chips were cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

The service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that our order was correct and that we had everything we needed.

What really impressed me was the quality of the ingredients. You can tell that they use only the best and freshest catches for their dishes. The flavors were outstanding, and I could taste the difference in every bite. It's clear that they take pride in what they do, and it shows in the final product.

Overall, I highly recommend stopping by Wild Catch Fish & Chips when you're in the area. It's a must-try for anyone who loves seafood, and especially fish and chips. Don't settle for mediocre food when you have a place like this nearby. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Prince Street Reserve is a hidden gem that deserves more attention and recognition. Its combination of natural beauty, art, and history makes it a unique and enjoyable destination for anyone looking to escape the concrete jungle and reconnect with nature. So pack a picnic basket, grab your camera, and head over to Prince Street Reserve for a memorable and enriching experience. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Prince Street Reserve, a charming park located in the heart of Melbourne, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way possible. As a lover of nature, art, and history, this park offered me a unique and enjoyable experience that left me smiling and refreshed.

The first thing that caught my eye was the magnificent statue of Patrobas, the 1915 Melbourne Cup Winner. Standing proudly in the center of the park, this impressive bronze figure captures the spirit of the champion racehorse and is a fitting tribute to its legacy. As a horse racing enthusiast, I felt a sense of excitement and nostalgia gazing upon this beautiful piece of art.

But Prince Street Reserve is more than just a statue; it's a well-maintained park that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lush greenery, colorful flowers, and tranquil atmosphere make it the perfect spot for a relaxing picnic or leisurely stroll. The park is also equipped with clean and modern facilities, including a pristine restroom and a state-of-the-art skate park that adds to its appeal.

One of the most striking features of the park is the stunning butterfly-painted wall, which serves as a popular backdrop for photographers. This vibrant mural is a work of art in itself and provides endless opportunities for creative and Instagram-worthy shots. Whether you're a professional photographer or simply looking to capture a special moment, this wall is sure to impress.

Another notable attraction within the park is the curved tree with native animal sculptures. This natural masterpiece is both fascinating and educational, showcasing various species of animals that are native to Australia. The intricate details and realistic designs of these sculptures add an extra layer of depth to the park's beauty and highlight the importance of preserving our natural wildlife.
