Sunday 21 January we’re heading down to for a Sunday afternoon hit out… last year was fantastic, so we’re really looking forward to this year next!

The Tender Hearts In 2019. Andy Shadburne, Greg Hitchcock and Nick Sheppard began writing songs - catching up once a week at a Church Hall in Fremantle. It soon became obvious that these compositions should be aired in public, and so they were! But what should the resulting group be called? A hundred and one band names were thrown into the hat, and none worked. Until a friend pointed at a quote written on the wall of the church - “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other” - The Tender Hearts were born! “There is a spirituality in music, and the performance of music, that is transcendental; a connection between the audience and performers that should be treated with respect, and care. The Tender Hearts was a name that really resonated with us; it spoke to the lyrical and instrumental content of the music we make. We’re not re-inventing the wheel. We’re dealing with a well known language, and trying to say something universal with a unique and personal voice. We’ve been around for a while. We don’t take the emotional impact music generates for granted.” Things were moving along nicely; gigs, a fantastic rhythm section (Nick Dudman - End Of Fashion, and Hank Debritz - The Electromen), and World Domination was a given… and then the pandemic hit! Andy had to go back to The States for 6 months, which turned into nearly 3 years! But now he’s back! And so are The Tender Hearts! The Clash, The DomNicks, The Neptunes and You Am I are just a few of the outfits that preceded this new project. But there is a freshness, a newness, a chemistry to this partnership that renders history obsolete. “That’s one of the amazing things about music; every time you start a new project, or a new song, it’s exactly that - brand new!”
