Sure has been awhile, HF&W has been all go for the past few months so things have been a little quite on here.

Starting things back up with a wall we installed for the Eastern Metropolitan Council at the Red Hill waste management facility.

This includes a large gate for forklift access with a quick and easy coded locking door!

Crane safe registered - 900kg at 16.5m reach.

Quick wear plate change out and dent removal out of the base for the first bucket💥

Also a more recent urgent repair on a loader bucket where the sides down low had worn through, quick plate up to get them out of trouble💥

Keeping downtime to a minimum is our aim.

Plastic filtration hood completed and installed with adjustable suction dampeners and adjustable sitting height.

No drawings, just told to make it work 🔥

Tipper floor reline and new two way tailgate hinge done for Red Hill waste management.

This was capping over the existing floor as requested - full wire wheel and rust convert of the old floor followed by galv painting the undersides of the new sheets to prevent rusting underneath.

Unimog has been working just about 7 days a week since the start of the year from when it got put to work.

Few small issues ironed out but safe to say the old rig is going great!

Stage 1 of the hopper turn shaft completed some time ago now with installation just about finished up on site 👌 happy days!

Patio truss kit done to drawings some time ago for a great local builder, headed off to powder coat.

Recent modifications and repairs to this drop deck.

Sheeted off the front, added heavy duty mesh down the centre, boxed off the front with tray sides and pull out/swing away rear gate for a place to store attachments and smaller parts.

As we pulled up the old wooden boards unfortunately above the skid plate wet dirt/sand had accumulated and severely rusted the PFC supports and skid plate/king pin welds. Removing all the old parts gave the chance to completely remove all the rust and heavily treat the chassis. New 12mm skid, king pin and fresh PFC supports has it ready to be put back to work!

Weld in sea container lock boxes - $110+gst each supplied or $275+gst installed within 15km radius from either Malaga or mount Helena, further locations happily arranged and discounts with installed price apply for multiple lock boxes.

Installed 3 last week for the Red Hill tip after they where having issues with break ins.

Fresh headboard for this tray recently completed, also made up some fresh hinges and re-installed the side gates.

This tray came in severely rusted after being modified and used as a chipper body and the client was needing it changed back to factory.

Off for a thorough sand blast and paint, happy days!

A day out on site in Woottating modifying this hopper. The client needed the opening to be on the opposite side to where it was so a new opening was plasma cut out, the panel that had been cut out was then welded into the original opening to stop any spillage.

Lastly the original exit was cut out and enlarged to stop any clogging.

No job to big or to small for the unimog!

Some much needed maintenance carried out on this tipper trailer.

Cut outs and patches done in the required areas of the floor and damaged cross members replaced, tidied up the rear upright to stop the rust and welded up some cracks on the tower and headboard.

Ready to be put back to work.

A completed job that was finished up some time ago now. Truck came in with a pretty mangled and bent head board - new skin on the headboard + some straightening and it was good to go.

Customer also requested a slight extension of the rear to give a bit more wriggle room between the ramps and his machinery, this also helped with stiffening up the rear.

Haven’t been as active on here as I would’ve liked to have been but we are finally through the busiest month to date.

Hills Fabrication finally back in action!

After much more time off then first anticipated the unimog is finally ready for service.

The bigger setup deserved a larger diesel welder so we are now running a vantage 575 to ensure no job is too big!

I apologise to everyone I haven’t got in contact with, it’s been a crazy few weeks getting this ready and I will be getting back to everyone asap!

As another year comes to an end I’d like to thank everyone for your continued support! Wether it be as simple as engaging with my posts or letting me take care of your projects nothing goes unnoticed and I am very grateful to all of you for making this possible.

2023 will soon look a little different as I begin to setup the new HF&W mobile welding truck and of course it’s a unimog!

With its larger carrying capacity, bigger tray and off-road capability soon no job will be off the chart.

for now I will be off until the 9th of January but in this time I will be completing quotes and catching up in the office, which I apologise for my lack of lately!
