Flinders Square recently organised a stunning Community Mural to brighten up the blank wall at the back of the centre. This project brought together centre owners APIL, managing agents Cygnet West, Melski McVee Artist and the very talented Year 3 Arts Class from Yokine Primary School P&C.
Before the mural painting, an engaging arts workshop was conducted for the kids to learn about our unique Australian flora and fauna and how to draw silvereye birds. It was an educational and creative experience that laid the foundation for their artistic contributions.
The kids later eagerly gathered at Flinders Square to put their skills to the test, completing a vibrant paint-by-numbers masterpiece in class rotations. The result? A captivating scene of silvereyes at play with Banksia nuts, celebrating the beauty of our native Australian parks and gardens.
