Does it get results?
The Phono-Graphix reading method has been proven 98% effective at addressing reading problems at any age or ability level. Over 100,000 children have learned to read with the Phono-Graphix Reading Method since 1993.
It has been successfully utilized in classrooms, clinics, pull-out and RTI programs, bilingual and ESL programs, Waldorf and Montessori schools, pre-schools, home-schools, speech and language pathology practices, volunteer literacy projects and adult literacy programs.
Our independent member therapists have completed all requirements for Phono-Graphix certification under the direction of a licensed Phono-Graphix trainer and are members of our international network of Phono-Graphix trained teachers.
See link in bio for more info about Phono-Graphix and how it can benefit your child, or visit our website.
How does it work?
Unlike most reading programs, Phono-Graphix does not teach rules (that don’t hold true anyways) or teach "the sounds that letters make." It is built on the concept that sounds in words are represented by sound pictures, and that these sound pictures can be easily decoded.
Phono-Graphix teaches the skills needed to read and spell: segmenting, blending, and phoneme manipulation. An educator using Phono-Graphix teaches the nature of the English written code, but lets the students discover the code themselves. This discovery learning process speaks to the nature of the child, who learns by making mistakes and by engaging in exploration. A system of error correction is built into Phono-Graphix, with just the right amount of missing information to engage the student in problem solving and active learning.
See link in bio for more info about Phono-Graphix and how it can benefit your child, or visit our website.
What makes Phono-Graphix unique?
Phono-Graphix is based on the nature of the English code as described by linguists. Instruction progresses from the sound to the symbol.
Lessons employ the requisite three skills to access such a code, as understood within the field of neuroscience: segmenting, blending, and phoneme manipulation.
Lessons are errorless - every response which doesn't produce a meaningful answer becomes a highly teachable moment which does. Memory networks are laid down through multiple bidirectional instruction: sound to symbol/symbol to sound, and each response is reinforced by accuracy.
Because our clientele are children, the program is taught in keeping with the way children learn, through paired association embedded in engaging and straightforward lessons.

What is Phono-Graphix?
Phono-Graphix is a scientifically researched method of teaching reading, spelling, and writing skills to children, teenagers, and adults, including students with dyslexia. As shown in studies (see below), struggling readers can achieve grade-level reading skills in only 12 weeks of Phono-Graphix reading instruction.
At the core of the method is a phonetic-linguistic approach to teaching reading, based upon extensive clinical experience with children and rigorous research in the fields of reading, cognitive psychology, learning theory, child development, motivation theory and linguistics.

Welcome back to Term 3, hoping everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable school holiday.
I’ve just returned from a fabulous trip overseas, cheering on my husband as he represented the Australian Tennis Team in the 21st International Maccabi Games. There were many proud and exciting moments, and it was an incredible experience that leaves me with many many beautiful memories.
I also had the privilege of training with Ayelet Shmuel, who is the co-founder of the C-REP model, a communication model that can be effectively used to help support children who are struggling with self regulation, which is an area so many kids and families are having a challenging time with at the moment. Ayelet presented at our covid workshop earlier this year, and shared many helpful and practical tools that we can use with our kids, to build resilient, confident, well regulated and independent young people. Her approach is clear, sensible, practical and supportive and works incredibly well. She is so passionate about her work and I feel incredibly grateful for being able to learn from her and her expertise in the field.
If this talks to you and you want to help your children develop these vital life skills, watch this space for information about the courses I’ll be offering shortly. There will be courses available for parents and for teachers, more details to be released in the next few weeks. If you would like to find out more information or to register for the course, please contact me on 0412 042 994.
I’m also very excited to announce another new program that is ready to launch, the Phono-graphix program. This program has been designed to help support children develop their reading, spelling and writing skills. More information to follow…

It was a busy week of workshops. This time we discussed new ways of considering and implementing everyday resources as part of your educational tools.
Thanks to for their support.
Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times.
Clear communication is essential for healthy learning and growing. Children of all ages observe facial expressions and non-verbal cues from caretakers, teachers, and each other.
Standard masks often block this visual communication with which can negatively affect children’s speech and language skills, social and emotional learning. Unrestricted access to the face enables children to thrive whether they are building friendships, bonding with parents and family, or learning to read in school.
We’re using these clear masks currently during our sessions and it makes a huge difference without comprising the safety of our young ones.

Feeling inspired and excited by the recent training I completed with Dr Eli Lebowitz, who developed SPACE at the Yale Child Study Centre (USA).
SPACE aims to treat children with anxiety disorders, however, it’s the parents and other care givers who participate in the SPACE treatment sessions. During this treatment process, parents and caregivers will learn skills and tools to help their child overcome anxiety, by making change to their own behaviour.
The two main changes that parents learn to make in SPACE treatment are to respond more supportively to their anxious child and to reduce the accommodations they have been making to their child’s symptoms. This method has been backed by research and has been tested and it has been found that when SPACE treatment is successful, children feel less anxious and function better following treatment.

Thank you to the Akidamy School of Early Learning, for inviting me to take part in a professional development evening for their staff members. I spoke to the staff about the importance of supporting the development of fine motor and gross motor skills in young children, and how to incorporate these activities into their school day. We covered some important gross motor and fine motor milestones and discussed how to identify a child who may need some extra support and what can be done.
Thank you to School Director and Educational Leader Kirsty Brown for her passion around early intervention and for ensuring that all the students of Akidamy School of Early Learning develop strong and solid skills during their early years. I am excited about partnering with the school on this journey and supporting all of the children to reach their full potential.
