I view Christmas carols as true folk music.
These melodies are hundreds of years old and ingrained in our inner ear.
They have a Bach like quality.
Bach was one of the most important composers.
Like the blues is to rock n roll.
Bach is to classical.
A foundation.
Bach also used to improvise.
I want to explore and celebrate these tunes.

Totally excited to be playing a mix of my originals and a few reimagined pop tunes with the ladies at Fire In Your Belly Kitchen Bar Music Fremantle tomorrow.

Each performance from The G.S.T is unique in it’s approach and delivery. Using collective and individual improvisation the trio create a truly hypnotic performance experience. Inspired by the masters of old Monk,Miles and Mingus yet, true to the modern sounds Gavin grew up with, the trio swings and grooves.
