There are a few things you can do prior to taking it as your only job :

⭐ Make sure you have savings for at least 6-12 months of your monthly expenses. The longer the better!
You need it if the 1st few months you struggle to cover your expenses

⭐ Secured a few clients while you're taking it as your part-time job. Doing this will validate that you're going to have income while shifting.

⭐ Keep showing up. Let your prospects familiar with you! So when they need your service, you are already in their mind.

Don't think about the next 100 steps, it'll stress you out and you'll freak out before you begin 😣

Once you're done with step 1, just try to figure out step 2. Don't bother about step 3 & 4. Thinking too many things at the same time will paralyse your mind 😣

Analyse the market price for similar qualification and experience as yours

🔸 Tax

Remember, you're not an employee (hence no employeer who will pay tax on your behalf).

Calculate this when you're setting your rate.

🔸 Expenses

Usually you pay the expense related to your job, unless agreed otherwise with your clients.

Take this into account when calculating your rate.

I began my virtual career when I was juggling between working as a teacher and a temporary "single mom"👨🏼‍🍼 (my husband, the one & only support buddy, was away overseas for 6 months).

Trusting my gut while I had no one in my circle who run online business was nerve wrecking 😩

Was I worried it might not work? 😣Yes.

Was I afraid I couldn't make it? 😖No doubt.

Was I scared I might waste my time? 😩 HELL YEAH!!

Before making the leap, for a moment I had looked back and realise,

Was I fully prepared when I joined university life (deciding what to wear was hard!)? 🙅‍♀️ No, I wasn't

Was I fully ready in facing marriage life (bye 'impromptu last minute decision' lifestyle!)? 🥵 Ofcourse not!

Was I fully ready having 42weeks pregnancy? 😑 HELL NO!!

Regardless how well my preparation I have had, I started to undestand that life always brings "surprise".

But in the end, Regardless how many times I have fallen apart, I always managed to stand up tall 🏆

If I waited until I was ready, I wouldn't share my amazing journey as VA to you now ☺️
