I was looking through photos to send for an upcoming article and found these by Matt Licari from the NY runway we did in 2021 at flying solo .
The artwork is by Kiya Watt and Cungelella art and earrings by Buffie Creative. And 🖤💛♥️ wish we could of gone over but nyorn COVID was around then .

We have delivered some Deadly Denim sewing workshops lately and in some of the community settings we have met moorditj yorgas who have really loved it and wanted to keep sewing at home /in crisis care services .
If anyone has an old sewing machine they would like donate we would be so thankful and can pick up and deliver to the women .

I had the most deadly day delivering a workshop at ST Barts with you all , thankyou for having me and feeding me 😍
One of the residents that attended ,has taken to Sewing big time , I ended up staying a couple of hours longer whilst she kept making things …
If anyone has an old working sewing machine they would like to donate ,I would love to give it to her ♥️so she can keep creating .

Thank you to all the women and staff for having Deadly Denim visit .
We had such a deadly week staying in Maningrida and sewing with the women .
They picked up sewing so quickly, loved seeing all the skirts and tote bags they made for themselves with their beautiful designs .

Deadly Denim ,Indigenous Denim Fashion Label.
Deadly Denim launched in late 2018 ,with a collection of denim jackets showcasing screen printed designs from artists at various remote Aboriginal art centres. As we have grown and evolved we now also collaborate with individual First Nation artists –showcasing exclusive small run collections of jackets featuring their artwork ,these can be pre ordered a couple of weeks prior to release or purchased online through our etsy shop.
We use the Australian Indigenous art code to protect copyright and ensure artists get a fair share of each piece showcasing their art .
Deadly Denim also donates 10% of each jacket sale to Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous Midwifery Fund, whom support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student midwives,Something the founder Beck Barlow is really passionate about .
Deadly Denim a business with a social impact , we also aim to be as sustainable as we can .Fashion comes with an environmental impact ,with the fashion industry identified as the second largest polluter in the world, just after the oil industry. And the environmental damage is increasing as the industry grows. So for us using recycled denim was a non-negotiable . Our jackets,shirts,dresses ,skirts and vests are all repurposed denim .
