To our beloved DTC community,
We said it wasn’t goodbye, just a brief pause while we gave the venue a makeover. Now, we are thrilled to introduce our new hospitality venue, Somewhere in the Park, which we hope will continue to be a favourite spot for all of you.
Beer enthusiasts, rejoice! Your go-to guy, Joel Beresford, has curated an exceptional craft beer selection, along with plenty of popular local brews on tap.
From the creative mind behind epic venues like The Classroom, Lucky Chan’s, and Fallow, Daniel Sterpini promises to impress with Somewhere in the Park’s big statements and little touches. Think open roofs, mezzanine seating, and plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for everyone.
And no one can bring this vision to life like our builder Rod, who worked his magic at Lucky Chan’s and Fallow. We had to bring him back for more!
Our extensive wine list, designed by Deb Taylor, will feature a rotating selection of wines by the glass, highlighting both familiar favourites and new varietals from Australia and around the world.
The café will be serving up morning snacks to go, or full breakfast and lunch meals if you can stay a little longer. Ryan Red Larsen loves to a focus on fresh produce and seasonal delights, so this isn’t your ordinary coffee shop.
Open Wednesday to Sunday, Danny Matthews and the crew will be in the kitchen firing up the pizza oven and delivering share plates and dishes so good you’ll want to keep them all for yourself. And of course, the return of the DTC smash burger – we’d never let you down like that!
With weekly deals and daily specials, there’s something for everyone.
The countdown to Somewhere in the Park is on, and we can’t wait to throw open the doors in November 2024.
TL;DR: Farewell DTC, and hello Somewhere in the Park. Opening November 2024.
Last 20 minutes for today's Garage Sale, doors shutting at 4pm.
Swing past tomorrow to get some massive bargains.
New opening time of 12pm to 3pm for Sunday.
Now that the dust has settled from our final days of trade, the cleanup has now begun!
9 years of memorabilia, merch, glassware, furniture and all the rest has resulted in a treasure trove of goodies that we need to move on.
This weekend from midday, we will once again open the doors of DTC on last time to showcase all the goodies you may have eyed off over the years!
Come between 12=5pm this Saturday and Sunday - we will have a sausage sizzle and whatever beer is leftover available to enjoy whilst rummaging through our offerings!
See you then!
Beer is only a part of what makes The Dutch Trading Co what it is.
The magic ingredient of its success is the people that make it run.
There is one particular gentleman whose stature is as big as his heart and passion for DTC.
Joel Baker started at DTC 7 years ago as a fresh faced (quite literally) Venue Manager.
His background of cheffing made him determined, hard working and insanely passionate in what he does. The events, offerings and day to day running of this (very complicated) venue instantly became elevated and never wavered during his time here.
His love and treatment of his staff transformed us all into the family you see today, a truly magical thing to behold!!
I could list a million other great things about Joel but I
don't know if it would all fit on this post. Needless to say, DTC would be a shadow of itself if it wasn't for his contribution over the years.
Personally, I want to take the opportunity to thank Joel for his consistent hard work and dedication to DTC and staff and his many sacrifices. I also want to thank him for our personal friendship over the years, something equally as important to me as his role in the business. Love you lots!!!
Make sure you raise a glass to him today!!
Cheers! Berro
The heartbeat of any venue is the kitchen.
It's also the hardest, most demanding, pressure filled job we could possibly think of.
Dealing with scorching heat, sharp implements & insane conditions takes a certain type of freak to express the love onto our plates.
There's never enough love we can give to our kitchen gremlins, but there's a few names we are going to thank anyways.
To Beau-Justis, you laid the groundwork, did the hard yards, thought about it differently. Plus one of the best beer minds around, proud of how far you have come!
Ryan Lambson, the polish and shine we always wanted and our double smashie is all because of you.
The mini family of Caleb and Zara! Workhorses and our glimmers of sanity. These two cousins gave it all and probably produced more of your meals here than you'd realise.
Deano has seen out the last few years here, through thick and thin. Yet another workhorse that can take on mountains and leave em cleaner than ever.
Staying on to the bitter end is Dazza and Mikey, along with Sonam and Dale 😸
Legends in their own right, pumping out those final double smashies.
Never doubt a chef, even if they are wrong, you are.
Thanks for all the feeds team 🍔
Our last ever tap update😢
But tears are best dried up with wild ales, Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stouts and barleywine. Don't believe us? Give it a try🤣
Walk in space tonight, Saturday is chockers, if you don't have DTC plans already, make it now.
It's the bois turn now!
Not half of what are ladies have been, but the fellas of DTC were always there for lewd jokes, practical jokes and dad jokes. Umm, all jokes. Might be where we went wrong 😝
There's been some bad asses(or at least they thought so), some wimps, some jocks even, but always lads.
Whilst we can't write the worlds longest post on all of em, two stood out more than any.
Pete, our longest serving member of staff, film buff and probably one of the countries best palates has always been by our side and we wouldn't have it any other way. From putting up with our insatiable appetite of buying more and more beer and just finding ways to deal with it through to helping our kitchen team with ideas and dishes and of course, responsible for most ph***ic things around the venue. Pete is the ultimate all rounder.
Dave, a stalwart for the last half of DTC, Dave made a point of knowing your name, your drink of choice, your business. If he didn't, you weren't DTC material. As loud and charismatic as can be, Dave led the charge for sub 8% beers is just hydration. But not a lager. Never a lager. Purity just didn't seem to be in his nature. But please consider this a fair warning, Be aware of the Dave.
Lads or ladies, we've been blessed to work with some of the finest.
Well that was something.
Our last quiz ever got us right in the bloody feels towards the end.
There’s zero chance of scripting an ineligible winner, resulting in a playoff for an actual winner and using one of our oars for a wooden spoon any better than what we did.
But of course the real winners were all of us ♥️
Our biggest thanks to Dux Nuts Quizzes for the last 8 years of excellent quizzes and memories.
Our man Charlie, as gracious as ever, sent out the quiz in such incredible fashion with a farewell for the ages. Still welling up a bit here 😢
We’ve made the most amazing friends from our quizzes, it’s been the best Wednesday’s ever
Our ladies!
The ones that keep us honest, continually prove to have better palates, more knowledge, harder working, nicer and much much much less stinky than the bois!
Our girls have always kicked ass and continue to do so.
We've been fortunate enough to work with so many kweens, we can't get through em all. However there's a few who have stuck it out and really contributed to what DTC is today.
Brucey, Haley, Sam C and now Sam G we love you! The efforts put in over the years have been nothing short of amazing, you've taught us all millions. Thank you for everything!
Girl power is alive and damn well!
Beer!
We wouldn't be what we are without it!
We've poured many a good one over the last 9 years.
There's probably well over 1000 breweries or more we have poured beer from over the years but there's a bunch of local legends that helped more than others and need your continued support to come over the next challenging periods for beer.
These breweries are putting in so much effort for so little reward except for good beer. If you are one the folk involved, we thank you!
Not just the brewers, but the pack hands, delivery teams, accounts, HR, Social Media & advertising, sales reps, malt & hop farmers, keg producers, gas suppliers, beer line techs, bar staff and so many many more people down the line that all go into the glass of liquid gold in your hand.
Locally here in WA we are blessed with so many wonderful breweries and their teams. We've always been able to walk into any one of them and feel as if we are their family and friends.
It's been a truely wonderful experience for us all involved in DTC and the connection to beer, the times spent drinking plenty of them and mostly the friends we have made along the way.
We have been truely humbled by the wonderful industry that it is.
Just 5 more services for us here at DTC.
Most days are now fully booked with just a few tables tonight and Friday available.
We are running out of products left & right, so please be considerate with our team!
They are even more sad that DTC doesn't exist beyond Saturday than you are.

We are throwing it back to the OG, our man, our saviour, our reason to get up every day and serve some damn fine beer.
Vincent Van Halen, the time travelling, beer drinking love child of Van Gogh and Eddie Van Halen. Ever wondered what happened when a lot of beer meets art and rock 'n roll? Vinny does.
Our main man from day dot, Vinny showed his Dutch roots and genuinely loved getting a few of the wood. He showed us the way, fought for us when it was tough, took our praise when it was good. He shone light on the darkest days, but provided a home for us all no matter what. He's a good egg. He's why DTC ever existed.
Vinny was our inspo, our leader, our supreme being. Still is, always will be.
Quite possibly the hardest working and best employee we ever had 🤣
The Double Dutch Rudder has seen a lot of things over the years.
A tasting paddle second to none(except maybe the new beast) we filled this thing with glasses more times than we could possibly ever remember.
We've had some brave humans take it on, some even twice in a night. Those humans were not so brave the next time. Never conquered, but often fought by our sides, often against us. Nothing but respect for what is a true legend of DTC history.
Again for the last time, do not google what a DDR is. Unless you really like intense eye contact 😉
It's Friday, don't go to work, go to DTC instead!
You know it's a much much better idea.
Who cares about inanimate objects?
You lot really did!
We couldn't pack all this up without saying a final thank you to the DTC chalkboard menus. Climbing ladders to heights that truely scared a few of us, going through cases of coke cleaning them, trying to write with big thicc chalk as neat as possible.
A throwback to cheaper beer, less ease, dangerous heights and forever not matching the chalk colours up.
