Lets Get Naked!!!

Lets talk about naked cakes and why they are such a hit.

Cakes are arguably the most important part of any celebration - imagine having a birthday without one! While many of us have come to expect over the top decorations on our wedding cakes these beauties offer a different approach to decorating and allows us to either be minimal or extraordinary with decorating.

A naked cake is a layered cake with unadorned - or nearly bare - sides. The cakes are stacked with frosting and filled between each layer to hold it together with a very thin coat on teh outsides - called a Crumb coat.
Without that heavy layer on the outside you get to see what you're about to bite into!

Having these naked cakes allows you to control just how sweet your cake is - it also allows you to really enjoy the flavour of the cake you're about to eat, not just the icing...
