Set deep under the rainforest canopy, the folding scallion roofs of treehouse-style accommodation seem to float above expansive decks. Here you’ll find one of the resort’s luxury rooms, the Rainforest Retreat. MacPhee’s worked alongside Hunt Design to fully integrate EuroCave wine cabinets into these suites to complement guest’s downtime. The wine cabinets add a sophisticated element to the space, giving guests the perfect, personalised wine experience in the comfort of their own tropical getaway.

This Wine Room provides a sophisticated space for the owner to care for their
wine collection.
An unused bathroom was transformed into something both stylish and functional. The space features Vintage View racking and two EuroCave Royale Wine Cabinets built into custom joinery with a space allowed for glassware, wine crates and opened wines. The cabinets’ soft amber lighting subtly highlights bottles and is complemented by bronze glass to keep the room feeling warm and spacious.

The wines were fantastic. Henschke Mt Edelstone is sometimes overshowed by its superstar stable mate Hill of Grace. However it's a superb wine and 2018 was no exception. Dan Standish, the owner, is a legend of a winemaker and all round super person.

It takes quite a few pours from the Zalto Carafe no 25 to polish off a magnum of Grosset – but we managed to do it with some help from good clients. The 2017 Polish Hill has years ahead of it, even allowing for the fact this was in a magnum bottle, where wine ages more slowly.

What's the perfect summer whiskey cocktail to try these holidays? The Mint Julep!
To make the cocktails, fill each glass with crushed ice, bourbon, and simple syrup. If you really love lemon, brighten yours up with a squeeze of lemon. If you’re a mint julep purist, you can skip that step.

(Simple syrup is actually simple to make! Just simmer water and sugar in a small saucepan, continuing to stir until the sugar is dissolved. To make it minty, remove the pan from the heat, add the mint and let it steep for 15 minutes to infuse the mint flavour. Strain and chill the minty simple syrup).

"Mainly local wines, especially red wines from the Beechworth area, another wine region in Victoria State. These are Shiraz (Syrah), Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and my favourite, Pinot noir, wines. There are wine bars where you can sit down for a bite to eat, discover wines and take them home. I don’t have any French wine, though, because... it’s all been drunk!" 😂

Brae never fails to impress! Michael, our National Sales Manager visited recently. He stayed at one of the guest suites on the farm. After a fantastic meal at the restaurant, he could sit on the porch soaking up the Australian sun, and enjoy a wine from the EuroCave Tête à Tête wine cabinet in his guest suite.
This Tuesday night, we hosted our annual Top 20 Wines of 2023. The showroom was buzzing as everyone arrived and Craig, co-founder of MacPhee’s, gave a brief history lesson on how the Top 20 first came about many years ago.
As always, our experienced Fine Wine Team carefully selected the very best wines that captivated them during the year. There’s something to be said about the way these wines are chosen, the broad range of style and price make them perfect for a wine lover’s many tastes while also being available and ready to purchase before the Christmas break.
There was a Burgundy from Francois Carillon, an icon from Tuscany’s Isole e Olena, an incredible-value, trophy-winning Cabernet from Yalumba... wines from Wynn’s, Bannockburn, Samuel Billaud, Sato from Central Otago, Mount Pleasant, Grower Champagne…the list goes on. You can certainly cellar some of the rarified, open a few over the holiday, and maybe even drink your favourite this weekend.
