The Division 1 Ladies Major Pennant team took on The Australian in the semi-final at Avondale.

It wasn’t the result the team was looking for, but at the end of the day, the smiles are there for a well knitted team.

It was fun caddying for Selena each week. Selena finished with 3 wins and 2 losses.

It was great to see the team do well and make the semi-finals for consecutive years.

Today I had the pleasure to present to the year two PGA Associates at Stonecutters Golf Club.

The group was positive and interactive, which made the sessions productive for everyone.

I hope they take away their new knowledge and apply it to their game and their coaching in the future.

Congratulations to The Lakes Div 1 Women’s Major Pennant Team who confirmed their spot into the semi finals 🏌️‍♀️

It has been good being on the bag for Selena throughout the season. Selena has risen to the challenge winning 3 of her four matches. A special mention to the sister of the smiling assassin who had her debut in Major Pennants today. A nice moment for her and her family.

James has allowed me to take him to the next level in his game. No matter what I say, it doesn’t matter unless James does the work..which he is doing..hence the progress in shot shape (draw), drop in handicap (2.5) and increased length with all clubs!

Today PGA Associate Professional, Hamish Mulholland, showed that hard work, perseverance, and the desire to improve, resulted in a great score with his technique coming together nicely.

The round included 16 greens in regulation and 26 putts!

This is only a couple of days after a top 10 finish in the PGA Associate Match on Monday.

It’s a great opportunity to play against some of the best International and National amateurs.

2023 is nearing its end..but what a year it has been on the golf course.

Here are a few highlights from my students in 2023.

Chizuru Ueda finished the year on a high. Firstly T1st in the Mollymook Pro-am then finishing 2nd in the play off to earn her spot into the 2024 NSW Open.
This was followed by making the cut in her 2nd Australian Open. Round of Even and +3 got her into the weekend amongst a strong field. The year ended with Chizuru finishing 22nd on the WPGA Order of Merit. A solid achievement for Chizuru.

The Lakes Ladies Major Pennant team has worked hard. All the hard work paid off by beating an experienced team in Bonnie Doon in the final two home and away matches to earn the semi final spot! A great achievement! Thank you to all involved within the team!

Our Smiling Assassin had a good year as captain of our Ladies Major Pennant Team, but she took it a step further by qualifying #1 for the Club Championship. She worked hard and showed great skills and maturity in a dominant display to earn a back to back Club Championship Titles. Thank you to all the support from all those involved to make it happen. Great Work!

Lucia Haigh had a busy year, but still found the time to fine tune her golf when she could then make the most of her time. Lucia played #1 for the Lakes Grade Team who went on to win the title in a dominant second half to the season. Lucia played her part and was not shy to take on whoever she faced. This was followed by shooting her personal best score and getting her handicap to her lowest ever. A great achievement! On a side note, her daughter played in her first comp with her mum. On the fifth hole, not only did she outdrive her mum, but she used a 6 iron and holed the shot for her first eagle! There is lots of potential here!

Fiona Yang has had another positive year. Her handicap is coming down and her technique is improving each day. Fiona loves match play! Fiona went on to win The Malouf Trophy, which is a handicap individual match play event. This was her second time winning this trophy! A positive year for Fiona!

There are many more highlights that I could mention. Thank you to everyone for your support! All the best for 2024!

4 rounds at The Australian Open complete ☑️

Chizuru had a great experience during the four rounds! There were many great shots and moments to remember. A tough round 3 hurt her on the leaderboard but she can be positive about the other 3 rounds.

A positive couple of weeks for Chizuru.

Chizuru played well all day hitting all the fairways and hit 13 greens in reg, but nerves helped missed a couple of putts at the end to shoot +3, but this was still comfortably inside the cut line in T29th.

Congratulations to student Chizuru Ueda on earning her spot into the NSW Open 🏌️‍♀️

Chizuru played in the WPGA Mollymook Pro-am which was played over 2 rounds.
Chizuru shot 72, 71 to finish tied 1st with two other players.

Chizuru won the second play off to earn her spot in the NSW Open as only 2 players could earn their spot into the NSW Open.

Congratulations to Rachel on her win.

It was great to watch the event live on Foxtel and Kayo today.

The time at The Lakes as the Teaching Professional has come to an end for me today.

I started in April 2014 when I moved up from Canberra.

I didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t know anyone when I arrived. I tried my best and gave my time to my students.

I have had a great journey meeting great people.

It was fun to watch the players grow and record great results.

The best part was taking them from not believing in themselves to becoming champions and achieving their goals!

The photos are some of the great highlights I have experienced. I couldn’t fit everything in but I thank all those who believed in me.

I have made some great friend which I will never forget.

There will be a new dawn and I will continue to coach.

Thank you for the 9 and a half years at The Lakes. I learnt a lot which will help me grow and improve each day.

Home now..reflecting on some great rounds from a few students..

James Hawkes had back to back rounds of 37pts and 38pts

Jamie Tomlinson had back to back rounds of 37pts and 40pts today

Fiona Yang went out and had 39pts to take care of business

Francisco Sarmiento took the advice from yesterdays session to post 38pts today

Tiffany Ha won her first Saturday comp with 41pts.

To finish the weekend off, our Smiling Assassin went out and had 38pts which now got her handicap to her lowest handicap of +0.2!

It’s really pleasing to see these results. Just shows that hard work pays off.

As the saying goes, “winners are grinners!”

Our smiling assassin with her foursomes partner Susie, showed determination and calmness in a round where things didn’t quite click, but still did enough to win the Club Foursomes at The Lakes!

Another honour board event win for Our Smiling Assassin!

Not to be outdone, her sister with her foursomes partner Tiffany, went on to win the nett section of the championship..while actually shooting a lower gross round on the final round, which was the best round of the day!

Great work by these two sisters and their foursomes partners!

A couple of nice rounds over the weekend by James Hawkes who shot the low gross round on Saturday to get his handicap to 1.8 followed by Lucia Haigh who had the low gross ladies round on Sunday to drop her handicap to 6.5 !

Nice play! Just shows with hard work and good technique anything is achievable 🏌🏻‍♂️🏌️‍♀️
