Yum Cha (literally means ‘drink tea’ in Cantonese) is as common a meal in Hong Kong as coffee and toast in Western culture, where Chinese tea is enjoyed with dim sum at traditional tea houses.

Dim sum is a style of Cantonese cuisine served up as bite-sized portions of food in small steamer baskets or on a small plate.

Going to yum cha with the family every Sunday is an important tradition that has lasted many generations in many families in Hong Kong.

We love yum cha so much and can't wait to share with you some of our favourite dim sums! Come to St Georges Road Food Festival on Saturday (today) from 5pm to 9pm to have an authentic Yum Cha experience with our Premium Dim Sum Set and traditional Chinese tea!

Bubble Waffle/ Egg Waffle (aka ‘Gai Daan Zai’ in Cantonese) is one of the most popular street food in Hong Kong - it's crunchy on the outside while each "bubble" is airy and gooey on the inside.

Hong Kong bubble waffles were invented after the war when the economy was bleak. Businesses would find ways to reinvent and utilize their meager supplies. It was likely that a grocery shop owner invented it to utilize unsold eggs. With flour and sugar - ingredients easily found in shops - egg waffles were born.*

It's a big part of our childhood and we hope to share with you the most iconic street food - Bubble Waffle! Come to St Georges Road Food Festival this Saturday from 5pm - 9pm, see you there :)
