Carnell raceway maintenance and tidy up 🙂 working bee day 1

Previous round was October the third round will now commence : due to a public holiday these dates had to be changed due to lease requirements.
14th and 15th of September.

A reminder that nominations close TODAY for 2024 SCMSA committee positions.

All members are requested to consider their involvement in the Association and what they can do to assist in its expansion and prosperity.

All persons nominated, proposed and seconded must be financial members of the Association. All nominations are to be submitted on the prescribed form and signed by Proposer, Nominee and Seconder.

What a perfect weekend in sunny Stanthorpe to finish our race calendar for the year. Thanks to all the competitors for coming out and putting on a great show, and of course the team of volunteers, officials, timekeepers and admins for making it happen.

See you all at the awards dinner to celebrate a great year together.

Further recognition from Stanthorpe Today for the efforts put into the improvement of Carnell Raceway. Well done to all the volunteers involved.

It is with deep sadness that we advise of the passing of our long serving member, Pat Murray.

Pat's contribution to the association over many years has been outstanding, for which we give thanks and owe a great debt of gratitude.

Friends of Waine are encouraged to come mourn the passing and celebrate the life of our much loved competitor who will be sorely missed.

VOLUNTEER CALL OUT:
Working bee at Carnell Saturday and Sunday 10/11 June

Jobs to be done:
*Remove tree trimmings from spectator area
*Join blocks in main straight
*Repair drain under track uphill of pit entry
*Clean up tyres and rubbish around generator shed
*Patch holes in main straight
*Fix seats and entry gate to spectator area
*Fix urinal in male toilet
*Paint floors in all toilets
*Rearrange plastic barriers in pit area to define roadways
*Clean out tower at drag start and transfer to container
*Move and level 20ft containers

If we could achieve these above jobs it would further improve the operation and look of our track. Nick Poole will be bringing a backhoe and truck to assist with these jobs, but we need at least 10 to 12 volunteers to help out. The track will be open from Friday morning to Monday morning so if you want to arrive early and leave late toilets and showers will be operating. Refreshments will be supplied Saturday afternoon.

Please come along and help as so far it's only been 4 or 5 people doing all the work. Please remember this is our home track now.
