Chamber have been in discussions with the Council staff recently regarding the condition of the public notice board in front of the piazza.
In the coming weeks the notice board will be removed and taken away for refurbishment and will then be reinstated after repairs are completed.
We would like to thank the council staff for attending to this request in such a positive and prompt manner.

Thank you to all those that give up their time to make our community a fantastic place. If it's soccer to tuckshop to a community group.
Our special region would not be what it is without the support of volunteers. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The Chamber of commerce has heard a whisper and we can confirm that the Easter Bunny 🐰 will be making an early visit to Stanthorpe on Easter Saturday between 10am till 12.

The Easter bunny will be walking around Maryland Street handing out chocolate eggs 🥚 and available for selfies 📷 or the helper will be able to take photos with your phone as well.

What a great idea
Learner drivers get knowledge and skills from other drivers besides parents and volunteers get to mentor to share their experience.

Do you have a passion to help our youth. Braking the Cycle Program Stanthorpe is looking for volunteer mentors to help our youth complete their mandatory 100 hours of supervised driving so they can get their P's. Contact Suze on 0429 510 212 or come into the Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre for more information.

Tuesday morning on sunrise, catch Will and Deb from Conrad Distillery, having a giggle with the sunrise team and making their "Bloody Aussie Cocktail"
These guys are amazing at what they do.
From gin, vodka, cans, bottles or perfumes, just to name a few.
Definitely tune in and if you haven't visited them yet put it on your list.

I would like to address some allegations that have been levelled at the Stanthorpe & Granite Belt Chamber of Commerce on the front page of the Town & Country Journal newspaper 7th March 2024.

To suggest that Chamber would host an ambush is an insult to all the chamber executives past and present that have hosted these very successful events over the years for the benefit of the community. The chamber posted an open invitation to the community on our page on 27th Feb and invitations were emailed to all candidates on 28th Feb so I refute the suggestion that 9 days notice is “short notice”.
An email was received from Melissa on 1st March and all her questions were answered. The offer was made for her to contact the MC but she chose not to do that.

Her concerns regarding live streaming were addressed and as the
Chamber meet the candidates have been live streamed in the past we will continue to do this into the future for community members that cannot attend in person.

To label me as “lacking professionalism” for wearing a hat from an
election over 3 years ago at an outdoor event I find personally
offensive. I do not believe Ms Hamilton introduced herself at the
meeting she mentions and I had no idea who I was speaking with and at the time she was not a candidate, but the author of a blog that has made repeated personal attacks against myself and my role as a volunteer with the Chamber, working on water security for the region.

The public invitation to the community was posted and I would have thought it was a journalists job to know what is happening in the community and to report on it without doing a hatchet job on a group of volunteers and again branding us as unprofessional.

I am extremely proud of the Meet the Candidates event we hosted last Thursday and we have received very positive feedback. I feel it would be appropriate for both the Town & Country paper and Melissa Hamilton to offer an apology to our members for their offensive comments.
