"✨SAME SITUATION ~ Last week my friend Shanaya and I shared our same feelings about working in the modelling industry. Five years ago we both felt like the weird one on shoots. Shanaya because she is brown skinned and not a size 8, and me because I am decades older than most models.

It was early days where clients were finally capitulating to society’s yearn for inclusiveness. On-set photographers would flail around moving white boards, blackboards, reflectors in and out, makeup artists used the wrong base on our skin. And as the saying “a bad workman always blames his tools” goes, we were often made to feel like it was us who were wrong.
