Last Friday we very sadly bid farewell to our our day 1 barista legend, Lydia - who sadly has had to return home to the UK.

Not only did Lydia start on day 1, she also stuck with us after day 1 - after we had forgotten to provide her with half the milk required.

Could have been excused for calling it quits there but we are sending out a massive thank you for sticking with us & being a joy to work with while keeping the hood well caffeinated.

We promise to uphold your legacy of random hypothetical lists & loving dire straits. And in our best British accents - hope to see ya back, yeah?!

A special moment in store today. Behind the scenes we’ve been eagerly anticipating the sale of our 500th bacon & egg roll.

We decided such a milestone deserved a free roll & of course an awkward handshake exchange photo to mark the occasion.

Meet Andy. Renowned doctor, loved local & Clarks great childhood friend.

Andy flew out of the gates upon us opening with bacon & egg rolls every morning before tapering off the good stuff & switching to skim milk ahead of the half mara.

Now the run is over & he’s back in full force. Sure, Clark was best man at his wedding - but this 1000% was not rigged. He was extremely confused at our celebrations early on a Saturday morning on a routine coffee and brekky visit.

The mighty Curried Egg gets a bad rap. We’re not sure why, so this is a call to arms to bring it back.

Sure, it’s maybe not the best for the gram and doesn’t have the fanciest of names. But we are here to show it off in all its glory - we’re putting it on the grid to stay.

We’re not embarrassed, and you shouldn’t be either. We see you buying them up, hiding them under chicken avos at the counter to avoid judgment.

Go on and enjoy it. Spiced egg in bread - perfectly balanced as all things should be. Be a good citizen and pay your respects to the foundational sambo, the one here before socials, the OG, the Gandalf, The Dumbledore... THE Curried Egg.

To be honest though, this one’s really just for us. As a grab and go establishment, we’re getting it all wrong if you’re staying for a second track.

Unless of course you order vegemite toast - our toaster’s on struggle street so that’ll probably run you two RnB classics.
