Hello! A little update, I’ve done myself a mischief and am in a moon boot 😅 I’m taking a couple of days to rest and then back into it. I have a couple of spots open next week, but I’ll be keeping it a bit quiet just to make sure I don’t overdo it!

I’d like to thank ADHD for the never ending persistence and determination to never let a SNOO get the best of me, or win a fight…. So far, so good.

This SNOOs owner attempted to clean and repair themselves, and unfortunately did a bit of damage in the process. There were multiple damaged cables, and connectors. Luckily, I was able to replace all of the cables, pins and connectors. It wasn’t without its fair share of cussing and throwing of tools in the process though! 😅😂 but alas, she is done… added in a clean and she is headed back home tomorrow.

What I mean when I say “fully refurbished”

When you’re buying a refurbished SNOO from The SNOO Lady, you are buying one that has been completely dismantled, all electrical removed, the inner cleaned thoroughly. All cables and the circuit board are tested to ensure they are all working correctly and there is no damaged or broken cables. If there are, they are replaced with brand new cables that I make myself. The bearings in the motor and each of the motion platform wheels are replaced and all o rings replaced too. The mesh is removed, soaked, stains treated and sanitised along with the mattress.

Once all clean is it Re-assembled and tested for 24 hours to make sure it is running smoothly with no problems!

Other businesses may sell “refurbished” however they are generally steam cleaned and the inner is not touched nor are any parts. Therefore you cannot trust these are working and have no issues - in particular the annoying click.

As a mum of 2 myself, getting care for my kiddos to be able to get to you asap isn’t always easy, so last minute cancellations do end up costing me for their care!

This makes me so angry…

Another SNOO sold as in perfect working condition…. clearly not, and I’m nervous to see whats going on underneath as I can see that cables have been played around with. The cables have been glued, and are all broken.

Now, it will end up costing more to have fixed than buying a refurbished SNOO. Poor mum is overdue and stressed and now this on top.

I am so lucky to do this "job" and meet so many amazing mums, and mums to be! I also get asked lots of questions.. the main one being "Does the SNOO really work? Did your babies sleep through in it?"

So, I thought i'd share a resource that I have loved and was a little bit of a life raft for me when I was in the depths of sleep deprivation wondering why my baby wasn't doing all of the things social media and the internet told me they should be. When I felt like I was failing as a Mum. When I was exhausted, desperate and grasping at anything the internet threw my way promising that if I just did x, y & z... I would be blessed with a full night sleep.

News flash.... It doesn't work that way unfortunately! Our babies are all so different and there is no magic formula to get your bub sleeping 13 hours with zero wake ups overnight. It just isn't biologically normal, especially for our newborns!

Mama Matters AU - Fiona is wonderful.. a light when you feel like you are drowning in darkness. A main focus is the biological norms for our newborns, toddlers and us. The information is clear and easy to digest when you are tired and trying to figure out if you changed your un**es that day.

And while yes, I do absolutely love the SNOO and what it offers, it is still only a tool in a box full of tricks. Our babies all have such varying sleep needs - My two couldn't have been more different! Dylan slept 7am-7pm, would be silent during his sleep cycle transitions and had at least 3-4 hours of day sleep.. Billie on the other hand (if you have had a chat with me... you already know I am terrified of her 🤣) she has very low sleep needs.. 2ish hours during the day, anymore than that and she screams like a banshee for hours on end. She still wakes 3 - 4 times overnight as she transitions through her sleep cycles, she just doesn't sound like a car alarm going off unlike if she has had too much day sleep.

I am no expert by any means, but the relationships and connections I have built with so many mums and mums to be makes me think of all those I haven't connected with that might have the same questions and really benefit from Fiona and the information and guidance she provides in terms of baby and toddler sleep, and letting go of the expectations that the internet places on us, and we place on ourselves as parents. It really helped me and I hope it might help someone else..

It has been a little while… I am definitely not good at multi social media platform managing 🫠

Lots going on with The SNOO Lady… Busy busy busy, and loving it as always!
Last week bought spiders, spiders and more spiders… two major repairs.. 2 self attempted repair and cleans that had to be fixed up… LOTS of driving… (psa, hit me up if you need poddy recommendations of the true crime kind.. I am in DEEP 😂) brand new babies, SNOO graduate babies and lots of SNOOS that look and work like brand new again!

Watching the sunset at The Entrance after a long day… off to Newcastle for the night, then another central coast job tomorrow. Taking in this magical spot and alone time while I can! ✨

The SNOO Lady assistant… she’s terrible at reminding me to do things, falls asleep on the job, always talking and on Occassion poops her pants in the car… but she has a smile like sunshine so I guess it’s ok! 😂

Todays before and after in Epping getting ready for baby #2! A full deep clean, mould treatment and service so it’s good as new.

Finally after a few visits we got your SNOO back up and running! A faulty power source and power button replaced and back to normal!

A little update on the ol nail SNOO…. I fixed it 🎉🎉 another visit is needed for some extra parts it is missing but she’s going! A huge win!!

Hot tip…

When I say this, I say it because I actually care…. Be careful with what you are buying! My poor client today has been sold a SNOO who has had someone attempt to fix it and in the process has drilled giant nails through it, used the wrong parts, and left it in an absolute mess with a bunch of missing parts. This is so not OK when you are paying $1000 for an item!

Buy a serviced and cleaned SNOO that has been done by a professional, that you are provided a certificate or some kind of proof with so you don’t face this kind of disappointment! I am going to do my absolute best to fix this and hopefully I can but this is just a reminder to be cautious when spending hard earned $$$. These aren’t easy to take apart and put back together!

The SNOO bus was loaded up for returns today! Currently in Windsor Downs for a service and clean prior to new bub arriving!

Tomorrow brings another return and a circuit board replacement! Thanks to my amazing friends in the sunshine state for helping me out as I had no spares left!

Tuesday tip!

It’s always a good idea to protect your expensive items by using a surge protector where you can! Unfortunately it looks as though this poor SNOO has copped electrocution of the appliance kind. I replaced the power input, hoping that would maybe do the trick but no bueno and the niggley issues persist. I will be revisiting on Friday to try again! Wish me luck!

What do you do in your bedroom at 8pm on a Thursday night? This is what I do 😅 SNOO Surgery… attempting anyway. Can this gal repair a damaged wifi chip? No idea…but she is sure going to give it a red hot crack!

Doing a little reach out for a beautiful mumma who is trying to help a friend who is in the UK and their bub has had a reaction to the formula over there.

Is anyone travelling to the UK anytime in the next few days? Heathrow preferably.. that would possibly be able to take a tin or two of some formula? it will be purchased and dropped to you anywhere required.
