I genuinely cannot believe I have to post this.

I understand that many people have not been taught to think critically and just believe anything they read on social media.

But there are prominent media figures - people who are highly educated and know how to read a book - who should and probably DO know that they are posting factual inaccuracies.

The situation in Israel is utterly horrendous. I grieve for the loss of life of both Israelis and Palestinians. I ache for the emotional and physical damage done to innocent people on both sides of the conflict.

But the source is not colonialism. It is that there are two indigenous peoples in the land of Israel.

I took a break from feeling dire about the state of the world to ponder our drinking culture and my gag reflex. Link below in comments.

This is devastating. I acknowledge the traditional owners of this land and pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging. You deserve better.
