What do M&G NSW staff get up to when they are on the road?
Last week, Susan, Olivia and Ashleigh, from M&G NSW’s Exhibition and Programs Team, spent a full and inspiring 24 hours in Wagga Wagga on Wiradjuri Country!
First stop was a visit to Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s incredible purpose-built digital space to see the Create NSW funded UNSW Galleries and M&G NSW touring exhibition Zanny Begg | These Stories Will be Different. Director Lee-Anne Hall and Curator Drew Halyday generously showed the team the many spaces they curate and create opportunities in, as well as insight into their future programming.
Susan, Olivia and Ashleigh then visited the National Art Glass Collection to see a fraction of their impressive holdings on display, followed by a tour of the Museum of the Riverina.
Luke Grealy, Manager of the Museum, gave Susan, Olivia and Ashleigh a tour of their downtown space, where they have changing exhibitions and are currently storing their collection. Luke then took the team up the hill to the new state-of-the-art Museum site currently in development. Such an amazing project being executed with the care of Wagga’s collection and community in mind!
Thank you Lee-Anne, Drew and Luke for such a warm welcome!!

In June, Newcastle Art Gallery’s 2021 Youth Advisory Group (NAG YAG) launched its Connecting Youth to Collection (Y2C) digital program! The Y2C project sees the creation of ‘by-youth, for-youth’ content, promoting conversations between Newcastle's emerging artists and Newcastle Art Gallery's collection. The launch included local DJs, video installations by Y2C emerging artists, projections by artists David Lobb and Mikayla Nangle, artists stalls and a pop-up bar and food truck. Congratulations to YAG members Belle Beasley, Benji Crocker, Aidan Gageler, Nicole Klaer, Molly McNeil and Kar Mun Phoon! Explore the Y2C digital platform here: www.nagyag.digital Y2C is supported by Create NSW's Audience Development Fund, a devolved funding program administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW on behalf of the NSW Government. #mgnswgrants #audiencedevelopmentfund #nagyag #y2c

Our speakers will present on the day-to-day challenges of minimising our environmental footprint, what other organisations are doing, and the unique role museums, galleries and creatives have in communicating with audiences and seeking solutions.
