📍 This morning’s Dawn Reflection at the Sydney Opera House showcasing the artwork designed by Aboriginal digital artist Brett Leavy titled “Trailblazers”. It featured and honoured the four significant First Nations heroes who once shaped the landscape around Sydney Cove (Warrane) during the 18th Century – Nanbarry, Barangaroo, Pemulwuy and Patyegarang.

A place I also call HOME.

🇦🇺 Happy birthday to an Australian Icon.

Last night’s Sydney Opera House laser show to celebrate its 50th birthday. The Opera House was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 20 October 1973, 14 years after it began construction in 1959. It was supposed to take 4 years to complete based on Jorn Utzon’s (Denmark) design besting 232 other submissions to the international design competition in 1956.

🇦🇺 Tonight's rare blue supermoon.

A blue moon on its own is simply having a second full moon in a single month, occurring only once every 2 to 3 years. A supermoon is when there is a full moon at the same time as it is closest to earth in its orbit, occurring 3 to 4 times a year. But to have both phenomenon occurring together, this only happens around 4 times a century, the previous one to tonight's occurred in 2009.

It is also super rare capturing a plane passing in front and right in the middle of a blue supermoon 😊

As of 6am today this fire season - which started a month early - has claimed 16 lives, 1365 homes have been destroyed, 3.6 million hectares have been burnt and 130 fires are still burning (source: SMH).
