Study in Australia and New Zealand
XL Education is the representative of the Australian education institutes.
It's been a while since we updated you on our staff here at XL. Of course, Yon (right) and Saki (Japan) are still kicking on with their wealth of experience. However, two new staff have joined us in the last year. For the first time we have a non-Japanese member of staff, although he can speak it. Can you guess who it is? His name is Aidan, and he is in charge of onshore operations. We also have Maho (left), who is in charge of finances.
We all look forward to meeting you and helping you expand your possibilities!

It is a simple fact: In an increasingly globalised world, today's employers and businesses are looking for people with global experiences. When you finish your Deakin studies, you will want to show that you are globally aware, culturally sensitive, and able to live and work independently.
Deakin's Global Citizenship Program is specifically designed to engage you with a variety of global programs and activities that can build up your skills in these and other key areas that are important in the global workplace and global community. To successfully complete the Global Citizenship Program is to show the world that you are ready to be an active, productive player.
But this is more than a chance to give your CV the competitive edge. Through the Global Citizenship Program you will have the opportunity to expand your world, connect with different cultures, and perhaps make a real difference in communities across the globe.
The Global Citizenship Program is aimed at supplementing your studies at Deakin and involves a combination of different international activities such as:
International study experiences
Participation in internationally-focused units
Seminars on international topics
International internships
International-centred volunteering
Foreign language studies
Peer mentoring
Professional development programs

Australian Immigration has tightened its borders, and obtaining successful entry into an Australian university or school and a visa has never been more difficult. The entire industry has been thrown around with these rapid and changing regulations. Now that things are slowly calming down we want to give you an update.
Here is what we know:
- Some visa prices have doubled
- A large number of visa applications will be denied every year
- Universities are urging students to apply through agencies. Pretty much all offshore students need to apply through a registered agency.
- Students that are not from category 1 countries are going to have a harder time than before.
- English language requirements are higher and more strict.
Here are our suggestions:
- Contact us. We're free and willing to help.
- Go through an agency for your applications. You need to play it safe.
- Make sure you definitely have enough money. Australia is more expensive than ever. A student visa application alone is over $1600.
- If you feel you need one contact an immigration agent. XL Education has an attached immigration agent if you would like us to introduce you.
- Start studying English now.

It can be hard to decide which university is right for you. With so much information out, and each university being so different and yet so similar a free-to-use website like ComparED is a lifesaver.
So here is a free tip from us. Use this website. I will save you time and stress.
