Art and Trivia - Monthly Event! Friday 29th September!

With handmade Daffodil bouquet, yellow cupcakes, a caricature artist, and a lifetime of laughs, we set off to the Achieve Milestones Support Service's community space to support and embrace Cancer Society!

It was an outstanding day filled with amazing art pieces and heartwarming stories of hope, life and love!

Thank you all for coming! I Cannot wait to see you all at our next round of group, social and holistic events!

Today, we looked inward to Build Healthy Boundaries … through open discussion, and artistic expression participants set out on a journey, setting an intention in the heart of the Marigold!

With their vibrant orange, yellow and red petals, naturally marigolds are symbols of positive emotions. Today, they were wonderful representations of the importance of fostering and nurturing healthy boundaries.

On Friday September 1st we will be coming together to celebrate and embrace Daffodil Day for the Cancer Society movement.

A day of artistic expression, group discussion, and general awareness of the efforts of volunteers, researchers, and those affected by cancer!

Dressed in your best yellow attire come join the NizCare Group at the incredible Achieve Milestones Support Service community space for this art and fun filled event.

Breakfast and Pottery - Friday 28th July!

Pottery work creates a calming experience resulting in lowering stress levels, blood pressure, heart rate and regulating breathing!

An ideal location and artistic exercise to practice our Wheel of Awareness in social settings, and take steps in positively influencing emotional well-being in ourselves, and in support of those around us!

Trivia exercises the brain's frontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for memory function ~ This, in turn, improves cognitive skills and problem-solving abilities.

Firstly, to our amazing gang of individual Support Workers! June has seen the commencement of intermediate life coaching skills & micro-credentials, the completion of a nursing placement, and of course your above and beyond commitment to our incredible participants! I can’t thank you enough for your service, support, and guidance throughout June!

To our participants: You never cease to amaze me! With an outstanding commitment to finding purpose, achieving goals, and building a meaningful and structured life. You have all brought us such joy supporting you throughout June and we are so excited for the month ahead!

And finally a shout out to the close of our June Social, Community and Holistic group’s - what a month! So many laughs and so many amazing art pieces! We absolutely loved it. Seeing you all grow and adapt to differing social dynamics, practicing awareness and social-regulation! An amazing effort from each and every one of you!!

Over the course of the past decade, there’s been increased willingness to recognize mental health as an essential part of one’s well-being. To maintain wellbeing, individuals need to recognize and grow their inner strengths!

At NizCare we offer an acute service to the NDIS community promoting exactly that. We orient all of our supports around capacity building elements as much as possible, and focus strongly on promoting independence in life, social, and community functions.

We are a small independent team of student counselors, AIN’s, Life coaches & holistic healers; an outcome focused team possessing a high regard for participant goals, helping individuals find Purpose, Security, and Connection in their daily life.

Here's to June, and beyond!

It is June, and the world smells of roses. The sunshine is like powdered gold over the grassy hillside, and the skies are a blue unlike any other! There is so much to be grateful for in June and the team here at NizCare Support Services is certainly on top of the world.

The last two weeks of NizCare Social and Holistic groups have been filled with such Joy!

A huge shout-out to IndigiScapes Centre for hosting the amazing and fun filled Community and Environmental Fair! We had an absolute blast! Participants got to experience an abundance of environmental arts and crafts, see some amazing performances from local community groups, and interact with a collection of local wildlife, plant life, and so much more!

And of course we cannot forget our thanks to Capalaba Central Shopping Centre for hosting us at The Circle, for a round of monthly art and trivia! ..... And what an outstanding event it was!

With our hands unconsciously busy with artistic expression we took to a round of Who am I, What am I, Where am I … and what a game it was! With only one point in the winning final round it was a great start to what I think is going to be a tough and engaging season!

Welcoming people from all different walks of life, we offer many different ways to attend the programs from supported attendance with a NizCare Independent support worker thought to "Bring your Own" support worker....
