🥁 Introducing… Golden Paws Therapy Services
We’ve been working on this project for months and are so excited to share with you now that our vision has come to light.

Ava is now a certified Therapy Dog and will start working in our community very soon!
We started this vision when little Bonny joined the crew but quickly realised our Ava is already perfect for this role. Bonny is still working through her training program.

With special mention to Mike The Dogfather Dog Training and Sam at Therapy Dogs Australia for guiding us on this journey. We are very excited to see what we do next together.

Naturally, while we have focused on this project our breeding plans have been put on hold. For those who have enquired over the last few weeks, we may have a litter late 2024/mid 2025.

We're nearly ready to share something very exciting 🤩 for those who have seen our recent posts and who we've been working with, here is another clue.

Bon had her first session with The Dogfather Dog Training yesterday. She was absolutely knackered afterwards.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆.

Last week we posted a video of Ava the Golden Retriever demonstrating what "Lifeskills 4 Lifestyle" means to us - well Bonnie is her niece. Bonnie will be working through our progressive program starting with the 1-on-1 Superpups Puppy Development Program, then into our Lifeskills 4 Lifestyle classes, and then onto Private Coaching platform.

Bonnie is working towards the future goal as a Therapy Dog, and based on the smile on Mike's face following their session, we think she has all of the necessary qualities.

Happy first Birthday to Ava and George’s puppies!! George didn’t get much of a look in with most of the puppies turning into spitting images of our Ava 🥰

Cyclone preparation tips!

Identification: Ensure your dog has proper identification, including a collar with an ID tag that includes your contact information. Ensure your microchip details are up to date!
Air tags are a good investment - they work when in range with any apple device.

Evacuation Plan: Plan ahead and know where you can evacuate with your dog. Not all shelters accept pets, so identify pet-friendly shelters or hotels in advance. If you desperately need help, reach out. We'll always find space for one of our pups!

Emergency Kit for Your Dog:
Sufficient food and water for at least a week.
Medications and medical records.
First aid kit for pets.
Comfort items such as a favorite toy or blanket.
Leash, collar, and harness.
Waste bags for cleaning up after your dog.
Photos of your pet for identification purposes.

Ivy's hot tip - don't panic unless its time to panic.
A solid foundation and training (including crate training) will be fruitful during times like these.

Bonnie is 14wks old 🐕
Here’s a small snippet of the last few weeks.. socialisation, training, but most of all sleeping!

Don’t worry, we go through the puppy stages too 😁 Bonnie clearly proud of her work this morning.

Many guessed correctly, Bonnie is staying 🌸 she didn’t give us much of a choice with that face though!
We have an exiting 2024 planned for her.. we are going to work closely with Mike from The Dogfather Dog Training and Amy and Sam from Therapy Dogs Australia with our goal of Bonnie becoming a certified therapy dog.

Will post her training updates and achievements throughout the year.

Little Bonnie is growing too quickly 🌸

In the early hours this morning Ivy’s little girl arrived. With only one puppy it’s no surprise this little one weighed in at 520g.
Everyone is doing fantastic and we can’t wait to share more pictures.

Ivy is in whelp. However we’re expecting a very small litter. It’s highly likely we have a singleton (one puppy) litter 🥰

Thanks to all who have messaged and are patiently waiting. We’ll provide another update in a few weeks.

We are very lucky to have handsome Neo with us for a short stay. Fingers crossed we have some exciting news soon 🥰 🐾 🐾

🐾 planned litter 2023

In response to the number of enquiries received recently we want to share our plans for the remainder of 2023.

We have a planned litter for our beautiful Ivy 🍂
Ivy will be paired with a handsome stud - Neo.

Both are hip and elbow scored and DNA clear. Fingers crossed this potential match is successful as we expect these puppies to be beautiful!

EOIs are welcome, however please note that we do not run waiting lists or accept holding deposits before puppies are born to align with ethical breeding practices.

The Mackay puppies living very spoilt lives 🥰

Ava’s puppies (Townsville) had a catch up session recently. All growing into such beautiful dogs 🥰 🐾

It’s certainly been a quiet few weeks in this household now all pups have gone to their forever homes.
Tiger flies all the way to Groote Eylandt, NT tomorrow! ✈️
Sharing some more updates below, we can’t wait to see how Ava’s puppies grow 😍

Some afternoon enrichment for my remaining pups - Sally, Dexter, Tiger and Daisy 🌸
This is a mix of egg, kefir, carrot, kibble and bone broth jelly.

Heartstrings were definitely pulled this weekend.
Banks, Maple, Daisy, Lola, Luna, Indie and Sonny have gone to their new homes 🥰

We sure kept Dr Chris and his team at Kings Road Veterinary Surgery busy this afternoon with our small army! All puppies are now microchipped and received their first needle!

A fantastic day for the puppies today.

We now have Sonny, Daisy, Banks, Tiger and Maple who chose and were chosen by their new families. Hopefully a few more names will find little faces tomorrow 🥰
The puppies also spent sometime outdoors getting used to new sights, smells, sounds and even one of the chickens 🐓 all with Ava keeping a close eye.

I’ll contact those on my wait list early next week with any available puppies.
