Calling all 2nd and 3rd year engineering students at James Cook University (JCU) – AECOM’s Dr Jonathan Harris Undergraduate Scholarship is now open! This is a paid work experience opportunity to learn new skills and be mentored by industry-leading practitioners in AECOM’s Townsville office.

Receive $5,000 per academic year towards your studies (for up to two years) and:
- get hands-on engineering experience across a range of real-world projects.
- learn from AECOM’s talented team of engineers.

Will Spencer was the 2023 scholarship recipient and has been working across AECOM projects in a flexible and supportive environment while studying at JCU.

"For me, the scholarship has kickstarted my career. The friendly staff in the Townsville office have made me a priority, which not only makes for a great workplace but a perfect opportunity to learn new skills from some really talented people.

When I was awarded the scholarship, I was just getting started as an engineering student. I wasn't entirely sure of where I wanted to end up working. The AECOM team has given me the chance to spend time in various teams, working on a variety of projects. This allowed me to make an informed decision about where I want to work in the future, and it has given me an abundance of skills that make me a more versatile and better engineer.

AECOM loves to reward its staff with fun events throughout the year. But what I love most about AECOM is how flexible they are with everything, whether it be the work that you want to do, when you want to do it, or where you want to do it from. I like to keep my afternoons free, so I will generally start in the office nice and early so I can finish my work and enjoy the rest of my day.”

To find out more and apply, head to https://www.jcu.edu.au/scholarships/search/aecoms-dr-jonathan-harris-undergraduate-scholarship2

Applications close 7 August 2024.
